Lazy. Doesn’t like clay. Should be banned for life.

"To be honest, I woke up this morning and played computer games. Is that the greatest preparation? I don't know. But it was fun." - Kyrgios after losing 7-5 6-1 6-4 at Wimbledon to Murray

Wonder if he found that scoreline as much fun as the computer games? ;)

He and Andy are good friends and he never seems to mind losing to him too much (which is just as well given that he usually does).

He has constant hip ailments. So couldn't this be a factor? Agreed on him being a headcase however

Lol no. He doesn't exert himself in any way on court. He shouldn't be getting injured. Probably just lazy. Or he hurt his back playing computer games. Whichever

Who cares. Same old story over and over. It's how he plays Tennis! He is not going to change any time soon. When he sees a real challenge, he steps up and that is what counts.

He chronically has a fear of success because he doesn't handle pressure at all. So it is easier to under-perfom or fake injuries (hell,he even throws matches with everyone watching) than to make an effort and have people know you can't handle the challenges. Then in the end you can keep everyone saying what an amazing talent you are, and you can keep telling yourself it too, without having everyone know you are a mentally weak player who can't keep it together.

+1. Last night was just a very stark contrast between a professional, workman-like, "do things the right way" tennis player in Frantangelo and Kyrgios...a world class athlete who happens to play tennis.

Yeah he ain't gonna have a long career, weird frail body he's got. He's like the alfa romeo of tennis players, all these weird luxury features that are always broken anyway, a 3 cylinder engine with a 12 speed gearbox that no one understands, and the engine computer blows fuses constantly. Buy it new for 50k, can get them on gumtree 3 years later for 3k.

Come to think of it, he should get sponsored by them.

Kyrgios is really not the type to succeed--very typical of the y generation--wants all the pressure off himself, wants excuses to soften the blow of losses and therefore acts like he isn't trying. Everything he wins he is therefore a bonus. Wants to strike a balance between work and entertainment and anything beyond the comfort zone are considered sacrifices and should be avoided as long as a living is made.

You just wait and see him defend Brisbane. The next big thing for sure.

Have you seen his tweeners and dropshots man? They're out of this world. Far more representative of tennis talent rather than such paltry aspects of the game like movement and groundstrokes.

If only he cared about tennis for a bit instead of video games and basketball, we might even see him tiebreak his way to a slam QF again, imagine that.

I dont think I've ever seen a match when he's not shaking his head and complaining about his legs or something bothering him. Then he runs a ball down and does a no look tweener lob winner or hits a 126 mph FH.

He's like the love child of Murray and Bahrami.

I think he might be one of those players that's more injured than not.. he's only 22 and already there's usually always something he's dealing with

I was courtside for the match last night. I saw him rubbing his arms a few times last night. He had the forearm taped up as well.

I didn’t see anything in the legs though. I think he was just trying to exert himself minimally and still get to the next round. I guess the strategy worked!

Sounds not great hope he recovers

Elbows as shown by Novak at his young age could finish his career as his serve is his number 1 weapon

Try and play a full schedule while doing minimal practice and virtually no off court work, let alone any prehab/preventative exercises and you will get injured all the time at a young age compared to your harder working peers

This latest elbow injury is more of a symptom of his brain injury
