Is MSV Focus Hex Soft really that comfy, 9.4 in TW review!?

Hi all,

I have had arm issues for years, caused by wrecking my arm with a Hyper Pro Staff 6.1 strung with Wilson Hammerlast (kevlar) way back before I knew anything about anything.

I play older, flexy Head Radicals now and usually with nat gut, but sometimes I go to a poly hybrid as it allows me to take bigger swings and generally gets better results.

I have tried a few softer polys but most end up hurting if I play too often or in the cold / heavy balls. I find Solinco Tour Bite Soft a bit too stiff.

MSV Focus Hex Soft has an amazing review from TW, including a comfort score of 9.4!! Every playtester mentioned the great comfort. The stiffness ratings of 194 for the 1.20 and 228 for the 1.25 are not soft however (I realise that comfort is not solely based on these).

Has anyone with a sensitive arm used this string, did you find that is really does have amazing comfort?

I am asking because noone has it here in Aus so would be taking a flyer on shipping a reel over.

Thanks!

I'd try the Focus Hex Plus 38 if you want a soft one. It's the softest version of Focus Hex. Personally only tried the regular Focus Hex (stiff) and Focus Hex soft (also stiff).

Focus Hex soft seemed softer than Tour bite soft to me but still on the stiffer side.

Thanks veelium. Hex +38 looks interesting, does it still perform somewhat like a poly despite being so elastic?

Thanks for the advice. Going by these comments and the numbers, these two polys seem like the best comfort options. Anyone used the Toroline O-Toro or O-Toro Spin?
