His Wikipedia page actually lists that third round among his other achievements:

"Castle became a professional tennis player in 1986, after completing a marketing degree whilst on an athletic scholarship in the United States. During his playing career, he was regularly ranked number one in Great Britain. In 1986 Castle reached the third round at Queens Club. He won three tour doubles titles, and was a mixed doubles finalist at the 1987 Australian Open."

It's very odd that it doesn't mention that he reached the third round at the US Open the following year. A much more noteworthy achievement wouldn't you say?

Yes - just.

I'd usually say 3 grass slams required, but the Olympic title and holding the all time record of 5 Queen's titles means he belongs as a grass ATG.

I always feel though that Murray should have been more of a factor at Wimbledon 2010 and even 2011 than he was.
I believe he could have won Wimbledon 3 years before he actually won it(2010)

He really should have made the final in 2009 as well. Roddick played a great semi final that day, but Murray was off as well. I believe it was mathematically possible for him to become world number 1 as well, had he reached the final and beaten Federer (a huge ask of course).

Is Wikipedia taking a subtle dig at Britain?

He's got the same # of Slams on grass as Connors, Edberg, Nadal.

Only one less than Mac and Boom-Boom.

Considering the deflationary era he played in, I'd say that qualifies.

You mean Wimbledon titles?
Connors won 4 grass slam titles (1 AO, 2 Wimbledon and 1 USO) as well as Edberg (2 AO and 2 Wimbledon).

How many ATGs can you have?
There have been 21 Wimbledon champs in Open era. How many can be ATG? 3 or 4?

How in the heck can you even be so specific, he's #11. Do you have an excel sheet or something?

It's not really difficult to keep inside one's head, hm?
Federer, Sampras, Borg, Becker, Djokovic, McEnroe, Edberg, then there's also Connors, Nadal, Newcombe. Not counting Laver and Rosewall, hence the fifty years cutoff (no 1968-70). Murray no lower than 11th on grass, some would like to argue for him above Nadal and Newcombe but I won't see that.

I guess you could squeeze him in there. Has done better than Edberg at Wimb with 4 semis, 2 wins and 1 final vs 2 wins, 1 final and 3 semis.

But Becker, Nadal and Connors have done better than him at Wimb.

Fair enough, though I'd say borderline top 10.

Despite getting trashed against Rafa at Wimbledon a few times, he does have argument to be equal or above him on grass. Especially given his consistency there and Nadal's early round woes which don't really speak in favour of his adaptability on anything but the modern high bouncing grass.

Nads has a clearly better peak/prime level in actual modern conditions they both played though, that's gotta be valued.

Indeed, or maybe top 25. Smith, Ashe, Gerulaitis, Tanner, Curren, Cash, Stich, Ivanisevic, Krajicek, Hewitt, Roddick all have an argument for higher grass peak as well. Murray's peak is probably on par with Lendl, strong but below peak big game bots. Lendl played in a bery bery tuff grass era, mury might not have won a grass slam in Lendl's place either.
To call Murray an ATG on grass is nonsense. Great, perhaps, but in no way an ATG on any surface. Laver and Rosewall were also ATG grass court players on the pro tour and in the open era.
