Certainly the most talented player to play the game. I wish I had his serve and forehand combination. His BH is the best ever, whether it's DTL or CC and he posseses Edberg-esque volleys. given his unbelieveable artilery of weapons, it's amazing how he never won a slam.

Let's compare Nalbandian to Sampras and Federer (other contenders)

Serve: Nalbandian in godmode has a better serve than Sampras IMO.
FH: When Nalbandian is 'on' like that fortnight in 07 his FH is better than Federer's. Nalbandian's godmode is amazing.
BH: Lol. Nalbandian had the best backhand for two weeks so that grants him god-like status; his backhand is the best in existance.
Volleys: I give the edge to Sampras, but only because Nalbandian doesn't try at the net, in godmode then Nalbandian raeps everyone because his godmode is like, amazing.
Footwork: Nalbandian's footwork is great, even better when he's 'on' and in godmode
Mental: Nalbandian never chokes big matches away. The only reason he loses is because he can't be bothered and knows that his time will come to win 17 slams when he enters godmode 2.0 and will officially become GOAT.
Physical: He's a physical beast is Nalbandian. He just grinds and finds a way to win.

I think Nalbandian is GOAT, discuss.......

Nalbandian is clearly underrated on these forums....

And in real life. Brad Gilbert says that Nalbandian is better than Roddick and Djokovic right now. I mean only? That's not saying much. Who are Roddick and Djokovic? Certainly not slam champions....Give credit Brad Gilbert. Nalbandian is the best player in the world.

I mean, I enjoy watching the guy play. But BG keeps saying he's like 4th favorite to win the Open??? The guy hasn't really done anything in Slams for years(though to be fair he's been injured for a few of them), has questionable fitness and mental fortitude.

There's a lot of guys I'd put ahead of him going into the Open: Fed, Nadal, Murray, Djoker, Soderling, Berdych all have a much better chance of actually doing something in NY in my opinion....and Gilles Simon...

The poster of this thread is clearly a Nalbandian hater! Otherwise there would be no negative option in the poll!

Nalbandian owns those players you listed. Nalbandian's godmode will win him the US Open IMO. Unstoppable.

Is this all necessary?!?!?!
Come on!!
Stop with that hate and find better topics to think about!Because there is no sense to mock tennis players, just because you don't like them! And with this thread you will only attract trolls, who are in this forum just to mock and bash!Tennis players do not deserve such treatment!
But if you like it ....... sorry for you!

ROFL! Depends how you define "the GOAT" I suppose. Potential is not what matters, results do. Can Nalby in godmode destroy Nadal or Fed in godmode? Hell no!

I'm back. Why the hell did i make this thread? I kind of did what Superman did in 'Superman 3'......Get drunk and then went to the dark side. My bad. Won't happen again.

for one i sure know you can and will do better than this...

i hope this was a mishit... :)

NO WAY!! Safin is the true GOAT and everybody knows it, I mean, he made the Wimbledon semifinals at 35 years old!!!

He is clearly overrated on this forum..

People talk about him in God Mode..tzz
Why doesn´t he show his God Mode at majors..
He reached the Wimbledon final 2002 because there were no opponents, the whole draw back then was a joke except of Hewitt who kicked his ass.
Nalbandian = GOAT dude win a few majors and then talk to me again guys.

I love Nalby. So glad he's back. He usually peaks during the indoor season, but maybe he will peak early this year and contend at the USO. I hope so-he's got a beautiful game and his gut is about the same as mine, so it's reassuring to see him winning.

The top six seeds in 2002 were: 1. Hewitt 2. Safin 3. Agassi 4. Henman 5. Kafelnikov 6. Sampras Other seeds that year include: Roddick, Malisse, Ferrero, Blake ETC. I don't think you can really put an * by his Final appearance based on a lack of talent. Also, it's really no slap in the face to say you were beaten by Hewitt in those days (he was a demon on the grass)The fact that he didn't have to play any of the mentioned players only suggests that he was strong enough to make through a tricky draw. That all of those great players were beaten earlier than David shows that he was able to rise to the occasion :)

let's put it this way. he maybe the greatest ever partying tennis player.

Sounds like you are comparing Nalbandians best tennis to federer and sampras's regular tennis.

I love watching him play but he's nowhere close to being GOAT. His game is capable of competing with anyone but he's missing something.
