is overgrip necessary ontop of a leather grip?

I have leather grips on all my racquets (two of them have fairway). I've heard that the reason overgrips are necessary is because the leather gets slippery. Indeed, I've had my racquet fly out of my hand a couple of times which may have partially been due to this.

If I take care of my leather with castor oil (see this thread: http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=156621 ) will I eliminate the need for an overgrip?

I have well conditioned hands from biking, weight lifting, and rock climbing, so blistering and discomfort is not an issue.

Not necessary if you like how it feels. Most people use overgrips because of better grip / comfort.

I'll try the mineral spirits and castor oil treatment, and see if I have problems with slipperiness this summer. Thanks for the feedback so far.
