when i look her matches i see a grand natural faculty and talent in her game, maybe is the most elegant player in WTA, her game is very smart and i don't now why she never won a big tournament, maybe the coach is guilty of the failure of Patty carrer.

By the way she is my favourite WTA player to watch, for his game and i love her curly crispy hair.

She never won a big tournament because she rallies but doesn't have alot to hurt you with, and because she has a history of tightening up in crucial situations. I see the results in her career as commensurate with her level of talent. A "good" career for a "good" player.

I love Patty but would have to agree.

all pro tennis players play like that. no matter what their ranking is, that's how they should at least play.

I think she could have done better than she has but to call her the most wasted talent is a lot to say. I like watching her play and I thought she was an excellent talent but I wouldn't call her in the Graf, Williams sisters and Clijsters area of talent among others.

Patty plays well when no one expects her to but the moment anyone taps her to do anything major she busts big time because she really doesn't have the mentality to handle being named a favorite to do anything anywhere. She always had a lot of raw ability that she never completely cashed in on for this reason, most of the biggest acheivements in her career came when she really wasn't a favorite to do them in the first place (her AO Semi, Beating Graf at the US Open, even breaking into the top 10, to a degree). I like Patty, Being lefty myself I have always had a sort of soft spot for my fellow lefties, but her mentality in pressure moments kinda well...stinks.

And to answer the Question, no she is not, there are other players who had more talent than her that achieved a lot less than they could have if they were able to utilize all their talent and get a little more mental grit (Sabatini, Shriver, and Sukova are 3 that come to mind)`

Shriver!? You have to be joking. Shriver is an overachiever if anything. She is a candidate for best player to not win a major based on the player she made herself into, but she really made herself into a better player than she ever ought to have been based on her "talent". She is clumsy, couldnt move worth a darn, and her ground game is comical.

That's impossible.

No one can do anything she has not the talent to do.

Check your logic.

If she didnt then she maximized her own talent absolutely 100% which the vast minority of people do, which allowed her to overachieve. There is no way Shriver was the 4th most talented player of her era, yet that is where she was ranked for most of it.
