Is pickleball on the decline already?

You will know Typsy is $real$ in the US when it is offered at Lifetime facilities. The pickleball court infrastructure is already built … now it’s just follow the money. I say the courts have been built, but I’m not sure you could get away in Typsy with so many pickleball courts right next to each other with no netting/fencing between them. Maybe … less chance to hurt yourself stepping on errant foamie than wiffle. It would depend on if foamies invade other courts more often/constantly.

Big $ behind tickleball … founder of tennis channel … and PPA tight with tennis channel. Just watching promotion video … I think it’s not going to be an easy low skills startup. Strokes matter in intermediate tennis doubles and will in Typsy doubles … not so much in pickleball doubles.

Interesting that it weighs about the same as a pickleball … we need to all pitch in to buy one of those balls and play pickleball with it. I tried pickleball with a red dot tennis ball once and it would have destroyed the paddle because of weight.

I share your fear about the future of Typti. The inability to use cheap junior rackets (due to the clever 22-inch spec) reeks of money-grabbing, and the disallowing of overhead serves is a stupid rule. It would be the ideal platform to learn overhead serves or tune them. The use of other body parts is gimmicky.

It also competes with USTA Adult Red Ball initiative, so I am doubtful about their support.

I hope it takes off. If it does, I will never go back to Pickleball.

I would be way past Typsy if I did that.
