This one was so massively obvious that even YOU would have realizedGood for you I suppose, because I sometimes don't lol, and no, I don't believe they can all be 100% sure every time. I know they are pros and I'm just a Sunday Club hack, but there it is...
You know, I would love some to hear some pros talk about double bounces on full stretch and their experiences with them
Of course he knew, professional tennis players always know when was double bounce. He's lying that he didn't know, he's cheater and liar. When I started to like him a little, this happens. And his posture and mannerisms after he hit the ball are for me enough to believe he knew it was a double bounce.
Djokovic wawrinka AO?You gotta do what you gotta do. Win at all costs, bud.
It's not a players job to call out mistakes, should they? Sure. It's the right thing to do and makes you likable but it's not your job. He's probably going to get a lot of backlash over this story but he got the result he needed so I doubt he'll care.
I agree. Balls are going fast and I don't think players know if it bounced twice or not.I will always give players the benefit of the doubt when it comes to double bounces on the full stretch, it can be very difficult to tell (this jist from personal experience) and I refuse to believe that every time this happens, every player is showing poor sportsmanship, when not conceding the point.
So, the opponents were cheating here too?I know exactly when I get a double bounce, and I'm not a pro. They know very very well.
I'm afraid he will make a career of knowing he is disliked and pretending he doesn't care about it.
Yes, he definitely knew. Don't idealise Federer. He also had many bad moments in his behavior. Here's another. Was Fed cheating here? Accept it. Players just don't know. Fed is known for his sportsmanship.
And Nadal.No, thats Iga.
If he did that on purpose, he's a cheater and there's nothing more to discuss. That double bounce, just disgusting behaviour.
You can see the extended highlights of 15 minutes, maybe without cutoff points.Only thing more scandalous is the official highlights of the match which lasted two minutes and cut off midway during a point
Wait, currently 39% of voters don't think he is cheater. Are voters really ignorant, orIf he did that on purpose, he's a cheater and there's nothing more to discuss.
We can only hate on him more and more.
Should we watch wrestling instead of tennis?ATP scriptwriters have told Rune to play the calculating villain for the next 15 years while Carlos plays the simpleminded hero in this epic duel between Good and Evil that will eventually become a comic book and Disneyland ride. So, Rune has to act the part and he did on this point![]()
Damn, that is not even close.

Wouldn't be the first time Fed tried to cheatHere's another. Was Fed cheating here? Accept it. Players just don't know. Fed is known for his sportsmanship.
Is this umpire Kader Nouni? He’s already famous for his wrong calls.

Why not both?Should we watch wrestling instead of tennis?
You 'betcha'!Will Rune be rude in the QF against Ruud?

The favorite phrase of people who have extramarital relationships. My dad always told me “it’s only cheating if you get caught”
Words to live by..lol
Straight cheating. That double bounce, just disgusting behaviour.
Terrible.
I don't see how thats a who he really is rather than a childish temper tantrum losing control of his emotions on the court as a young kid under a huge amount of pressure playing professional tennisRune lost me (not that he cares) when he was angrily shouting at his mother.
When someone shows you who they really are, listen...
Terrible cause you're assuming he's lying? You do realize its literally impossible for you to know whether he knew it was a double bounce or not when he played the point? And the fact the the umpire/linesmen missed it makes it extremely believable he didn't know it was a double bounce either until the replayTerrible.
Whats true is its impossible for you to know 100% for sure whether Rune was aware or not during the point and if the umpire didn't even realize it obviously its very possible Rune didn't realize either. Its literally the umpires job to watch out for this and he didn't even knowIt's the umpire's job and he screwed up badly and Rune showed terrible sportsmanship. Both things are true.
Exactly people have a ridiculous tendency to pretend they know for sure someone is being dishonest. Probably paranoia defense mechanism caused by human dishonesty throughout the history of our race which can screw you over, so better safe than sorry.I will always give players the benefit of the doubt when it comes to double bounces on the full stretch, it can be very difficult to tell (this jist from personal experience) and I refuse to believe that every time this happens, every player is showing poor sportsmanship, when not conceding the point.
Oh right such a clear double bounce that the umpire didn't see it when its his job to see it. Hm... maybe not so clear after all.One of the worst cheaters I've ever seen.
That was a clear double bounce and he was happy to take it, how can anyone defend him after that? And he almost always takes a MTO when his opponents start outplaying him. He should be ashamed of himself.
Knowing Rune, I would assume that if he knew himself there was a double bounce, he would do just the same: stay silent.Whats true is its impossible for you to know 100% for sure whether Rune was aware or not during the point and if the umpire didn't even realize it obviously its very possible Rune didn't realize either. Its literally the umpires job to watch out for this and he didn't even know
So bashing Rune, AND Djokovic now?Not admitting the double bounce is bad sportsmanship. Playing possum in the 4th set is active cheating. But Novak did it many times and it does work beautifully. I guess it is a kind of socially accepted cheating, like MTOs and toilet breaks.
What the hell are you talking about? Tennis umpires, even at the highest levels, are terrible with double bounces. Most of the time you can understand because it happens so quickly that both the player and umpire are duped. This was a clear double bounce and Rune saw it happen in real time.Oh right such a clear double bounce that the umpire didn't see it when its his job to see it. Hm... maybe not so clear after all.
If the umpire missed it why not Rune being unsure too and just playing the point?
You’re welcome! So bashing Rune, AND Djokovic now?
I am in. Thanks.
Did you ever play tennis or table tennis yourself? You know 100% when there is a double bounce. The ball and its impact feels totally different. Even when it‘s just a split second.Whats true is its impossible for you to know 100% for sure whether Rune was aware or not during the point and if the umpire didn't even realize it obviously its very possible Rune didn't realize either. Its literally the umpires job to watch out for this and he didn't even know
