Rune’s ceiling is stories above De Minaur’a. De Minaur is a Ferrer at best and I love the guy. He’s one of those guys that you wish had the fast twitch muscles and effortless power you see in some far less dedicated players.
He would need Carlos, Sinner and even dare I say Fritz to lose early to have a chance at winning a slam.

Rune seems to me to have his mentality straight this tournament, as in not letting his frustration/disappointment in a few errors carry on too long and send him off the rails. That’s a switch.
He would have finished if he won the first set. It definitely seemed like one of those mind game tactics to retire so there's questions about the loss.
Hopefully, he does play better in slams so we have a big 3 again or a solid rotating 3rd. JS and CA have outstanding offense and defense a level above the rest.
