Is Sinner Finished?

Sinner is only in the 1st quarter of his professional career so it’s rather too early to suggest that his career is over.
Definitely injuries are a factor but Jannick comes across as quite a grounded and measured character which I think lends itself to longevity and consistency.

He's not finished until he does himself a serious injury or destroys his joints. He has a high risk style and string tension but seems very healthy for now.

I think he’s feeling the pressure of being number 1.

He now has a girlfriend, $150+ million dollar Nike deal and models for Gucci everyone and then.

People will always now compare him to other ex #1’s...it’s almost like his journey is just beginning

Yep he will only win 1 slam this year and probably only be a threat at AO for he rest if his career. Alcaraz, Rune and Zverevs will be sweeping up the rest of the calendar

It’s kinda sad that the kneejerk nonsense and trolling (and perhaps reverse jinxing) in this section hasn’t changed in a decade. He’s just won Halle looking very good, has had the best season to date, and lost to Alcaraz with physical struggles AFTER HAVING A HIP INJURY THAT PREVENTED HIM FROM TRAINING PROPERLY PRIOR TO RG. And even then he took it to 5 and had chances.

“Flash in the pan” is so premature it’s nuts, the kid is 22 and number 1 in the world. I feel comfortable saying he can win multiple slams in addition to his AO title. Whether he will remains to be seen, but that applies to every player.

This is funny. Some of these forums always make me laugh.

You mean the guy who has made at least the semi finals in 9 of the last 11 tournaments he has played? the guy who has a 38 - 3 record this year, you think he is finished. You are delusional, Sinner will win many more slams and be number 1 for many more weeks to come yet, it is only just beginning.

Let's be honest, if Sinner had even ONE single credible rival, that was the same caliber as the Big 3, he would be lucky to win another grand slam.

People say that Djokovic played in an inflation era, but this going is going to make Djokovic's vulturing look like nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Everyone hyping him up like he’s the next GOAT are forgetting he was only about 3 games from losing the Aus open final in straight sets a few months ago and having zero slams to his name
If Medvedev didn't clown around in the earlier rounds at AO, he'd have straight setted the Italian like 6-3 6-1 6-2.
Its a shame his legs gave away after 1,5 sets.

Peak TW. The future GOAT one moment, finished the next, both viewpoints being utterly ridiculous. All after losing one match, on your worst surface by and with an injury to boot.

After watching him lose to Carlos Alcaraz at the French Open, I am starting to think that he could just be a flash in the pan.

Your thoughts?
Oh, absolutely he's finished....until he beats Alcarez again. Then, Alcarez will be finished.....until he beats Sinner again. Then of course Sinner won't win anything ever again....until he beats Alcarez at which time Alcarez, of course, will be all washed up. Yet again Alcarez will beat Sinner so Sinner will be a has been. Not to mention that still yet again Sinner will be Alcarez so naturally Alcarez was just a flash in the pan player....yada, yada, yada.

Correct! Thank you.

Imagine if Sinner, had to play in the early 1990s. The poor guy probably wouldn't win anything.
Early 90s?
JMac and his bunty 4.0 forehand?
Lendl and his pusher dinking that couldn't even beat a lame cramped Chang?

At least Sampras and Agassi were legit
Edberg would get his face drilled at the net

Good grief, what a dumpster-fire of a thread.

39-3 for 2024 and he’s finished.

The big forum boogeyman known as “Sinner trolls” could learn a few lessons in trolling from everybody else!

Edberg would kick Sinner's a**.

He beat prime Sampras at the US Open in 1992 and at the Australian Open in 1993.

Of course, he's not going to have any problem with Sinner.

Don't kid yourself.

Right. As I said before, Novak isn't injured this time.

He has a wrist problem back in January.

He just had a surgery, and you say he isn't injured now, but instead was "injured" with one of his many phantom made up BS injuries in January? In actuality this is one of the only and first times ever Djokovic really is injured, and not just inventing one as is his weekly/monthly occurence. Frankly I am surprised he is even playing Wimbledon, and think is a dumb choice by him and his team.

Nahh he will be a double digit slam winner. 10 at least. Probably won’t be a GOAT candidate but who knows. The field doesn’t exactly look very promising LOL. Alcaraz probably won’t stay healthy past another 2 years

There will probably be a new crew of guys in 5 years. But between now and then sinner can make his mark. It really all depends on what teenagers step up
