Is the feel same (Wilson Prostaff 95 and 90)?

I love the feel of Wilson prostaff BLX 90 (current model). But I am considering Prostaff BLX 95 for better power. I assume both of them (90 and 95) have same feel because their same material. I ask a question to you. Do you think they have same feel really (just if I add weight to the 95)? any comment appreciate! thanks

They definitely do NOT have to same feel. The 90 feels a lot nicer, but I "think" a lot of it has to do with the leather grip. Do not buy the 95 thinking it will feel the same as the 90. Try it for yourself.

I currently use the 90, but when I was demoing, one easier racket that I found surprisingly similar to the BLXPS 90 feel was the pure storm tour gt.

I think they have a similar feel but the 95 is a bit softer. Also, the 95 has SW 306 and the 90 has SW around 335. Two frames from the same mold and same materials will always feel different when the SW is this different. One's a wand and the other is a club.

You could customize the 95 to get it closer to the 90 but in stock form they are very different rackets.

The 95 is more forgiving but swings considerably lighter. I used to own the K6.1-90 and K6.1-95 and had to add lead to the 95 to increase it's swingweight to match my liking but when once I did, I never looked back!

I would agree. The PS90 is less flexible and given that it is heavier and slightly more stiff, it can create more power asuming one is strong enough and has enough skill. I told the kid at the pro shop if I was Roger's size and age, I would use the PS90, but I am not not, so I am working with the PS95 to get as close a possible to he 90 and still stay within my limitations.

I think this is the point of the ps 95 - it is Roger's racket for mere mortals. Only downside to the frame is the 306 swing weight which is way to low but you can fix it with lead tape.

I've been using the Tour 90 for 5 years. And I can tell you that the 95 feels much lighter. I tried it the other day and it felt horrendous to me.

I've never found a racquet that has come close in feel & power than the PS Original 95's I used to use. Have tried many but currently use Pure Storm Tour as its box beam is similar and slightly lighter (due to my advancing years this suits just fine). Will the new BLX PS 95 be the stick for me? I dont have anywhere nearby where I can demo one and its a lot of hard earned cash that the wife monitors if I buy one & dont like it!

Can you use TW mail order demo program? PS 95 good feel but needs head weight to increase power and stability in my view. I would caution against buying blind and I cannot tell you if you you will like the racket. For me, I will demo the PS 95 and dunlop 300 and maybe 1 or 2 others when I'm ready to buy a couple of new rackets. I would never buy blind.

I've tried many times to increase a rackets weight with lead tape, but it just never felt the same as a racquet that came heavy enough in stock form.

I personally would concentrate more on finding a racquet with good weight and balance. As opposed to focusing on head size and other specs in the hopes that you can add a bunch of lead weight to make it feel right.

This is exactly what the pros do with their pro stock frames and they seem to do ok ;)

Not at all, the 90 feels more firm and rigid, with a soft wobble. The 95 feels way lighter with a more muted and slightly softer feel (even though it is stiff) compared to the 90. I like the 95 just because I feel it pockets and grabs the ball easier. The 90 doesn't seem to give as much dwell time.

leading a PS95 to PS90 specs would take 1.1oz of lead tape. Do the pros really use that much lead tape???

wouldnt just be lead tape, silicone in the handle is often used to mute and get the balance right.

but here is an example of a pt57a's hairpine weight:

Thanks for the advice. Cant see anything on TW Europe website about demo program. I have bought blind before and luckily not been caught out but unwilling to do so again. Will have to email TW Europe and ask, otherwise see if I can find someone local who has one to let me have a hit.
