Is the M-Fil 200 18x20 a unique mold?

I just took my old M-Fil 200s out of the closet and i noticed, for the first time, that they aren't the same mold as my Aerogel 200s. As far as i know, the new 4D 200 is the same mold as the original AG 200.

Since the M-Fil 200 16x19 is not the same mold at all, i was wondering if the M-Fil 200 18x20 uses a unique mold or if it was used for older Dunlop 200s like the Hotmelt 200G or MuscleWeave 200G. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

I think that the M-Fil 200 18x20 uses the same mold as the HotMelt 200G, they certainly both have a throat bridge that is the same thickness as the outer hoop. The Aerogel 200 18x20 has a much thinner throat bridge, which I think is the same as the Revelation 200G 95 and the MusceWeave 200G 95 (though I'm only going by pictures of the latter two - I should know better when they arrive, hopefully later this week).

Certainly, the Revelation 200G 90 has the same thin throat bridge as the Aerogel 100 whereas the HotMelt 100G has a thick one.

Correct!

I've noticed the differences in the throat bridge on these as well.

What's the advantages and disadvantages to a thinner/thicker throat bridge. I thought i heard the thinner provides more feel or touch. Is there a power drop off with the thinner?

I have 2 Mfil 200 18x20's and one Aero200 18x20.
Identical in frame diameter, Aero is heavier by .4 oz.

I think they tapered the bridge actually, my M-fils had a constant bridge (same thickness as the rest of the frame all the way around) whilst my Aerogels seemed to get thinner towards the middle of the bridge.

Very good eyes, you guys!
..and seems my Aerogel head is slightly longer, making the overall length about 1/8" longer than my two Mfils, besides being .4oz heavier to boot.
I guess my problem is that I don't ever look at my rackets, I just go hit yellow balls with them and sometimes swing thru the air for practice.
I like looking at cute girls, not tennis rackets.

I love M-Fils 2hundred 18x20

Interesting that you guys noticed the different throat bridge thickness to differentiate the 2 molds, i had not even noticed that. For me, it's the throat dimples of the M-Fil (absent on the AG) that caught my eyes.

When i discovered this forum, i bought 2 beaten up M-Fil 200s for 50$ shipped. They played a big role in developing my growing passion for tennis and everything related to it. Since they were in such a mess, i felt like i had to upgrade to some nicer AG 200s. I didn't like them at first but i kind of forced myself to like my new AG200s (that i had bought blindly without demoing first).

Today, i took out my old M-Fils for a hit and...i felt the magic. I should never have forced myself into the Aerogels but i was a racquet noob at the time, i couldn't feel the differences and subtleties that made me love the M-Fils so much.

So here i am, i'd pay some good money for 1 or 2 M-Fil 200s in good condition. Make sure to let me know if you have those laying around. It's a real shame, i remember that these in 9/10 condition used to go for about 50-60$ shipped in the classifieds here. Oh well... at least i still have these two :)

Man, you guys make me wanna pick up another set of Mfil 300's and Mfil 200's, i use to play with these, had 6 M-Fil 300's at one point, loved them. Now i have one, but I'm definitely looking for more again, they were my first actual players sticks.

Wow...

The M-Fil 200 was my first players frame. Played some good tennis back then until I started to experiment. I had 4 of them at one point. Now I play with 28 inch sticks and have only one left.
