Is the next gen already becoming the next lost gen?

I feel like it's a combination of many things. Income inequality is probably the biggest one as man

If Medvedev had to play in the mid 2000's he would be a dime store Davydenko. Modern crop of players are the most overrated in the history of tennis.

1. Federer, Roddick, Hewitt, Safin etc
2. Nadal, Djokovic, Murray etc
3. Dimitrov, Nishikori, Goffin, Raonic etc
4. Medvedev, Tsitsipas, Rublev, Zverev etc
5. Sinner, Alcaraz, Rune etc

I think thats the general view around here.
Seems pretty logical to me.

The next gen who were born in the mid-late 90s and supposed to takeover the tour after the big 3 retired are now quickly getting beat and likely surpassed by players born after 2000. They've already been eclipsed by Alcaraz (b. 2003) and Sinner (b. 2001), but now, they're starting to fall against other players born well into the 2000s.

Stefanos and Khachenov losing against 20-year old Michelson (b. 2004)

Rublev losing against 18-year old Foncesca (b. 2006)

Medvedev losing against 19-year old Tien (b. 2005)

Fritz decided to change things up by losing to 38-year old Monfils who is from the big 3 era lol

These are all players they'll continue to keep seeing more of and likely better versions of going forward, in addition to Sinner/Alcaraz. It's looking more and more likely that only 2 majors ('20 USO by Thiem and '21 USO by Med) in tennis history will ever be won by a player born in the entire 1990s decade...crazy stuff lol
One man still left standing…. ;)
