Or is there another racquet sold today or in recent yrs that is similar to the pt630?
yes, i recall reading that the H19/UT/UP are the Wilson's Prestige..I've never hit with an original PT630 but have heard posters mention the Wilson Ultra Pro can be a good option.
The PT2.0 is definitely closer to the PT630 but I' say that IG Prestige MP was even closer...Or is there another racquet sold today or in recent yrs that is similar to the pt630?
Neither are like the Head Pro original, the Blade v7 18x20 is a good candidate for a modern frame to replace the Pro Tour 630, or a Blade Pro or a VCore Pro. Blade v8 seems to have very positive reviews and by all accounts doesn't deviate too much from the v7.
Blade Pro is really nice, and very close to the old school head feel. But will have a beefy swing weight, so different spec dynamics to the Pro Tour.
I might get killed for this but in my humble and very subjective opinion the Pro Tour 2.0 is a very overrated frame. It doesn't do anything really well, and it just feels stiff and lifeless. No soul. It's not really any easier to use than the original, so added stiffness just made it fell, well pretty crap. If I wanted a stiff but capable players frame I would buy a Pro Staff.
If the Pro Tour 2.0 was a 16 x 19 it might have been interesting, but then it would have been a re-painted IG Prestige Pro. Yes the IG Prestige series were really nice.
Note: Yes I know the Pro Tour 2.0 is a different mold to the IG Prestige Pro. Also, the best replacement for a Head Pro Tour is the Head i.Prestige MP, do yourself a favour and find a second hand i.Prestige.
In the current Head line up, the Speed and Gravity series have the Head DNA and are really nice modern offerings.
Any insight into the release date? Also interested to check out the new 95 16x19.I think you guys will really like the new Prestige 98 18x20 that’s coming out soon.
Can you really trust the quality of small custom brands like angell tho?I think the Head Pro Tour 2.0 is closer to the original PT630 than the Prestige MP, albeit slightly stiffer and thus easier to use. Another similar frame would be Angell TC97 18x20.
Most would argue they are more reputable simply b/c they don’t mass produce as many sticks as the big dogs. Can you really trust the quality of small custom brands like angell tho?
The other question should be - can you really trust the QC of most large manufacturers like the ones you can see on the shelves of most tennis shops? Can you really trust the quality of small custom brands like angell tho?
I dont get it, you say the pt2.0 is not that great but then you say it would be the same as an ig prestige pro, and you then say the ig prestige pro is a good racquet. Are you say that changing the pro tour 2.0 from 18x20 to 16x19 makes it a much better racquet? Because thats what follows from what you are saying isnt it?Neither are like the Head Pro Tour original, the Blade v7 18x20 is a good candidate for a modern frame to replace the Pro Tour 630, or a Blade Pro or a VCore Pro. Sorry, haven't played tennis in a very long time, going lockdown crazy and felt like a rant All in jest, don't take it personally if you love the Pro Tour 2.0.
Yeah but racquets are some pretty high level engineering. Unless the engineers at angell were like former engineering badasses at a major racquet firm like head or wilson or yonex, i dont know if i would trust them. Most would argue they are more reputable simply b/c they don’t mass produce as many sticks as the big dogs.
I Dono man I own a VW and it’s a piece of sh*t.Yeah but racquets are some pretty high level engineering. Unless the engineers at angell were like former engineering badasses at a major racquet firm like head or wilson or yonex, i dont know if i would trust them.
would you buy a car made by “joes fried chicken and automobiles” over a volkswagen?

Why dont any pros play with angell sticks tho?
Can you say whether there are significant changes from the 360+ MP beyond the cosmetic and the name change of the MP to the Pro?I think you guys will really like the new Prestige 98 18x20 that’s coming out soon.
Because Angell isn't spending its money on sponsorships. Sponsorships are a huge part of the money tennis players make, especially outside of the upper echelons where players can depend on plenty of prize money and appearance fees. Players need to play with something that'll provide them with steady income. Same reason why you don't see many Prince racquets on tour even though they make great sticks. Prince isn't doing great financially and can only afford a few sponsorships. Why dont any pros play with angell sticks tho?
I read your link and it kind of seems to me if they really did produce a true gem of a racquet then why not mass produce it and market it for the same demo that head wilson etc market for?
like if you make a car thats as good as a honda crv and you can sell it for the same price why not try to sell as many as honda does and make billions of dollars?
y wasnt el bulli a chain restaurant? Why dont any pros play with angell sticks tho?

I played with my friends parents prince racquet and it was the biggest piece of sh#t ive ever played with. It had no ability to generat spin its balance was terrible. Maybe prince does make some good racquets but im not going to bother demoing any of them bc i love the solidity of head racquets.Because Angell isn't spending its money on sponsorships. hows it feel compared to the 360+?I think you guys will really like the new Prestige 98 18x20 that’s coming out soon.
I was impressed by the new Prestige ProHard to imagine the new Pro is a better frame than the old one (G360+ Prestige MP) ...
It's now my racket of choice, and is the best player's frame I've used so far. The 95 sq in PTs and alike are just to hard to handle, with a small sweet zone, when playing competitively for my part.
What did you like, that was an improvement over the PMP+?I was impressed by the new Prestige Pro
What specs are different between the pro and the mp?

It felt more connected, the string bed feels more lively, it feels like it’s more flexible because you feel more connected and it has better feed back. What did you like, that was an improvement over the PMP+?

LolYou're making me drool. STOP IT!
I've just broken my piggy bank... I hope you're satisfied.
The PT2.0 is definitely closer to the PT630 but I' say that IG Prestige MP was even closer...
PrestigeWhat is the new prestige line going to be called?
I think he means since the prev gen was called Graphene 360+ Prestige XXX, will there be a change in the nomenclature, other than the juggling of model names?Prestige
For me, the IG was nothing like PT630...The PT2.0 is definitely closer to the PT630 but I' say that IG Prestige MP was even closer...

Better yet where does it sit in comparison with the Pro Tour 2.0Where does the new one sit in comparison to previous Prestige versions?
Damn it. And here I was looking around for some possibly cheap old remaining stock 360+ Prestige MPs to go with the one I have after waiting around for a different pj. I never gelled with the all-red personally. Was hoping for a special limited version. It felt more connected, the string bed feels more lively, it feels like it’s more flexible because you feel more connected and it has better feed back.
i dunno if im allowed to say. it says both “graphene inside” and another new word on the frameI think he means since the prev gen was called Graphene 360+ Prestige XXX, will there be a change in the nomenclature, other than the juggling of model names?
Graphene inside? That sounds weird.i dunno if im allowed to say. it says both “graphene inside” and another new word on the frame
From the photos I’ve seen of the new paint job floating the interwebs its awesome looking. No one mention the Tecnifibre tfight 315 Limited? Unless I missed it. Deserves a mention anyway?

Expected them to make it more lively. But didn't think they would look to improve on the feel. Looks like lots of demoing in the near future.
It does look really nice. Like an improvement on the Graphene Touch version. From the photos I’ve seen of the new paint job floating the interwebs its awesome looking.
Seems one of the best PJ since a long time
Nope don’t say it! Lol but that’s what makes this new frame feel “more connected” as @vsbabolat stated above.i dunno if im allowed to say. it says both “graphene inside” and another new word on the frame
Wow - I think the current 360+ PMP has fantastic feel, it is a great racquet.Nope don’t say it! Lol but that’s what makes this new frame feel “more connected” as @vsbabolat stated above.
The new construction makes a difference. It definitely has as good if not a bit more feel than even the Graphene touch.Wow - I think the current 360+ PMP has fantastic feel, it is a great racquet.
