Is there a big difference between 4 3/8 and 4 1/4 grip size?

Hey guys,

So as you know...my POG's are pretty beat up and I noticed today that one of them is cracked since the bumper guard is completely shaved off. Haha. I've had it for a good 4+ years so I've gotten my moneys worth. But I think I've decided to order what's left of the POG's at TW...and they only have 2 in the 4 1/4 grip size. I normally use a 4 3/8 and was wondering if it's going to make any huge difference? Or will just a couple overgrips do the trick? I think it won't be a big deal and just some overgrips will do the trick..I think I just answered my own question..haha.

Well... the difference is 1/8th of an inch, do you consider that big or small?

On a more serious note, two overgrips will do the trick.

You can also buy a heat shrink wrap to build up the gripsize.

I actually like 1/4 with one overgrip best but can also use 3/8. There definately is a noticeable difference which one extra overgrip will cure but it will make the racquet more headlight.

You could also give 1/4 a go - you might find you can get a bit more whip on your groundies!

difference of 1 size .. use one or two layers of overgrip will suffice. It depends on your personal preference. My grip size as measured is between 4 1/2 and 4 5/8. I can play with 4 3/8, 4 1/2, and 4 5/8. The smaller is good for serving while a larger one is better for groundstrokes. My preference is 4 1/2.

If you just hold them like eastern forehand grip to check your gripsize they will seem almost identical and slight difference.
But when you swing or play you will notice the difference...
If you are between 2 and 3 like me, I think the difference is bearable...
But even if you are 3 going to 2 isn't that a big problem.
the problem would be to have gripsize 2 and try play with 3. Then you would notice much of a difference over a 2-3 hours match...
