there's no such thing as alu original...or at least from what i've seen.
there's BB alu power rough and the normal BB alu power
or the BB alupower (rough) and the BB original...
the truth with the copolys is that...they still dont have that much power... yes, im sure they have more than typical poly monofilaments, but when it comes to polyester....there's just not much feel or power. so to answer your question, i highly doubt there will be a noticeable change in power or feel...if any at all

Big Banger Original is a 16g (1.30mm) as opposed to the Alu, which is a 16L (1.25mm). In general, I have found that the Original is more durable and slightly lower powered than Alu Power.

Luxilon ALU Power and Luxilon Original are both worth trying.
I think many of the poly's compared to Luxilon ALU should be copared to the Original version instead. SPPP, for example, seems like it is almost exactly the same as Lux Original, except for the first few hours. Like most Luxilon Strings, it has amazing playing characteristics for the beginning of its life. There is a time period where you don't feel like it is possible to hit the ball long, or to hit it without lot's of kick to it. I've never gotten this feeling with anything other than Luxilon strings.
The Original is not as crisp as Luxilon ALU. I don't know if it is safer for your arms and shoulders or not, but I would say it is a little softer. It is definitely more durable than ALU, Luxilon will freely admit that. It is also lower power, just like BigServer1 said...
Both strings have incredible bite, but for some reason Luxilon Original is rarely mentioned around here. It is a great choice, a great starting place in someones quest for the ultimate string.

i've used both strings and they're BOTH worth a try. don't get caught up in the popularity and hooplah about bb alu. i liked the bb original better personally. to me bb original has less bite, more durability, more feel, and to me more power-bigserver and someone else felt differently on that one-depends on how you make contact with the ball. just so you know, i have recently gone away from lux altogether and now use basic synthetic gut. using lux so long, i just forgot what it was like to play with a string with lots of feel. i go with prince synthetic gut duraflex-much, much cheaper with tons of feel-just make sure you know a stringer.
