Is there a difference between a 3/8 and 1/4 grip size?

will a change from a 3/8 to a 1/4 grip size really make a big contribution to tennis elbow? Also, just wondering, post the grip sizes of your tennis racquets.

Off course there is a difference: 1/8 of an inch. Now whether it will help you with TE or conversely worsten it depends on your hands. Normally an appropriate grip should leave a little space between your middle finger and thumb if you grab it. Going for too big or too small a grip can cause problems with the elbow. Try to use the right grip for you. Neither too big, nor too small.
BTW I am a 4 1/2, in the past I played with smaller and also with bigger but as I told you the best grip is the one that just fits you. Most men will have 4 3/8 or 1/2.

there is no hard and fast rule for grip size that works for everyone. it is best to try to find some demos (or some friends) that have different grip sizes and try those out. grip sizing is highly individual. I have wristy groundstrokes, so I prefer the feel of a very small grip. some flat hitters like a huge grip behind their hand for a solid, stable feel.

it's a rule to go with a lower grip size ...

I tried both L4 and L3 but eventually realized that even L2 works better for me. Now all my racquet are L3 or lower.
Try different grip sizes and different overgrips and you will find what works for you.

better to go to small then too big cuz you can always add an overgrip to make it more comfortable and its much easier than shrinking a grip.

While this is absolutely true, just keep in mind that a heat shrink sleeve or thick grip will add weight to the handle and consequently alter the balance of the racquet.

BTW, I got a pretty bad case of medial epicondylitis from using a "textbook" sized grip. Couldn't figure out why, until I was stuck with an L2 grip K90 demo. Played with it for a month and my elbow pain disappeared. So larger is definitely not always better.

Not just the size, it's also the shape and your kind of playing style. You have to find your own balanced choice.

OF course there's a difference.

I had two rackets, everything the same but one was 4 1/4, one was 4 3/8 because they were the only ones in stock, and I felt a lot more comfortable with the 3/8 one. Now I use 4 1/2, feels so good.
