Is there anywhere we can watch the FO Men's Semis Live on Friday?

TennisChannel coverage at 5am PST claims to show the mens semi live.

Lets see.
Where did you see that?

I just checked the Tennis Channel website and both their online schedule calendar and their PDF download schedule show they are showing a taped replay of the women's semis at 5am EST on Friday morning.

You can watch it in my house, the only demand I have for letting you in is that you do not root for Nadal, beers and snacks on me!
Thanks for the invitation, but as everyone here knows, I can never refrain myself from rooting for Nadal. So I guess I'll have to take a pass. Thanks anyway. :)

Oh, the irony....

Overly generalizing about self absorbed, complaining Americans who have to have things their way. Let me see if I've got this....

The very people who don't know what sport is are complaining that an American television network is not showing a live event in France, that will feature men from Serbia, Switzerland, Spain, Sweden, Scotland and Argentina - potentially....

+1, and know I would have brought pizza......

Cool it bro. For years I've been reading here how the US channels screw their viewers while, say in India (where i am), we get all this on telly live (and repeated again during the day, if the live was at night, i.e., US matches).

It's really sad to see Americans hunting for livestreams, while in a developing country we get this on telly. (btw, they do show golf and car racing here too, God knows who watches it).

Isn't Milkha Singh's son a famous golfer?

And what about that racing guy from Chennai who races Formula 1? Karthikeyan? Forget his name.

Tennis Channel will be showing womens repeats at 5 am.

NBC is only showing tennis from 11 am to 2 pm.
Which invariably means we are getting short changed in some way for both mens matches.

Both semis will be broadcast delayed at 5 pm on Tennis Channel.

Who do we have to kidnap to get this right?

The 4 best players in the world in highly important matches get relegated to talk show reruns?!
Shameful...

I suppose I'll just not visit any of the sports sites that day and wait till tennis channel shows both matches in the evening. And I don't have to worry about co-workers divulging the scores - I don't know if anyone in America follows tennis (besides tw fanatics!).

The best solution is just to BE PATIENT and watch it on TennisChannel, or download the matches in 720p off t3nnis.tv.

No point in endlessly complaining, it won't solve anything. Although you can't watch it live, at least you can still watch it. If you want to avoid spoilers, just don't go to any tennis sites or talk with anyone who keeps track of it. Simple.

I don't wanna read all the replies. Can someone just give me a straight answer if I'm going to able to watch either of the Semi's live on Friday if I live in the Pacific Time Zone? Ugh, I was gunna skip school to watch.

NBC has coverage at 11. But even that will probably be delayed a bit and only enough time for 1 SF.

I think he meant NASCAR car racing(other american racing ) and not the usual Forumula 1 which here lods of people watch and enjoy..

During Nadals QF today Mcenroe said that TC would be broadcasting one semifinal on Friday. Didn't mention if it would be live or not.

I heard that too and figured it meant live. But their schedule only shows the replay at 4 central time.

Yea but I'm not sure if their trying to say that it will only be aired live in EST or that's the time that it will be aired in EST and PT will just be aired 3 hours earlier like usual.

I'll check my Comcast guide later and see if they are showing that it's on that far ahead.

I think what they are saying is that TC will broadcast from 7am to 11am EST, at which time NBC will take over from 11am EST. However, on the West Coast, that same TC broadcast will be on at 4am PST to 8am PST. But since 11am EST is 8am PST, we on the West Coast will be blacked out for 3 hours until it's 11am PST when NBC will come back on. This is because NBC's broadcast is "11am IN ALL TIME ZONES". So if a match is still in progress at 8am PST, we will either miss the rest of the match due to the blackout or NBC will resume on tape delay where TC left off 3 hours earlier when NBC comes on at 11am PST. Either way, we will miss the exciting conclusion to the match live and there will be a 3 hour hiatus when we can't see any tennis at all on TV. :(

AFAIK, Tennis Channel does not have separate East Coast and West Coast feeds but just one single satellite feed for the whole country. Why none of this about the men's semis is on TC's calendar schedules nor PDF schedules is very strange. :???:

My comcast guide says for Friday 4am -10am Women's semifinal replay. Hopefully they do show mens though.

I know this comes up every year. But has NBC learned anything or are they going to stick it to us tennis fans on the West Coast once again?

From what I can tell, ESPN is barred from showing the men's semis at all. Tennis Channel is barred from showing it live and can't show the taped replay until 11pm Paris time (2pm PST).

NBC won't begin broadcasting the men's semis here on the West Coast until it's already 8pm Paris time, which means the matches will most likely already be over. Of course, once again, NBC prevents ESPN and TC from showing the matches live even though they won't be doing it themselves!

Will there be a quality free live stream on the Internet or has NBC banned those too, as they've done in the past? :???:

Come to India BP.
You can watch tennis all year long.

lemme make u an offer..Come to my home..India..And bring few blonde chicks and also bring few thousand $$..and watch it free for whole year..u will get every mickey mouse tourney free with it..

Get a dutch IP-adress (proxy), and go to www.nos.nl. Go to sports, and during the match you'll find a yellow box on the right saying something with 'Live', 'Roland Garros' and 'Murray-Nadal' or 'Djokovic-Federer', 'Halve finale (which means semifinals)'. The quality is excellent

No Waiting for French Open Men’s Semis

By Tom Perrotta (WSJ BLOG: http://blogs.wsj.com/dailyfix/2011/06/02/no-waiting-for-french-open-mens-semis/)

NBC will add live Internet streaming to its broadcast of the men’s French Open semifinals this Friday for the first time, according to a network spokesman.

The move follows complaints in recent years from tennis fans who could only see tape-delayed tennis following the network’s Today Show, depending on the length of the matches and the time zone.

This year, Tennis Channel will broadcast the first semifinal between defending champion Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray, which begins at 8 a.m. ET. NBC will broadcast the second men’s semifinal—between Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic—in its entirety on NBCSports.com, according to Adam Freifeld, a network spokesman. The network will begin its television coverage at 11 a.m. in all time zones, after the Today Show, Freifeld said.

Good. Can only hope the Murray-Nadal match lasts into the NBC coverage so that we can see both matches in their entirety. Also hope they do this at Wimbledon as well.

Not everyone has Tennis Channel....here we have 2 great semi-final mens matches and NBC is only covering the 2nd match - and only for 3 hours. The match could last 4-5 hours if it goes 5 sets.....so most likely they will cut off the coverage of the match to show some non-significant programming. It's a travesty. I was looking forward to the Nadal match - which I can't even watch....no coverage since I don't get Tennis Channel....and I"m at work so can't watch the "streams".

Good news for us Canadians. TSN will be showing both semi finals looks like...starting from 8am est to 1pm est, thats 5 straights hours live coverage. Most likely they wont cut off (they usually never do) the tennis like NBC for example if the matches exceed regular broadcasting times.

Ye have been heard.

8AM ET / 5AM PT Nadal v. Murray (Tennis Channel-LIVE)

11AM ET Djoko v. Fed (NBC-LIVE)
8AM PT " (nbcsports.com-LIVE)

Considering what happened last year, I think NBC is pretty good by allowing TC to air 1st SF live and by streaming 2nd SF live for West Coast. If you don't get TC, can't get streaming at work, don't own a TV, NBC can't help you there. You shouldn't be watching TV/streaming at work anyway. God forbid you are an air traffic controller.

I'm sure there will be tons of Internet streams for both matches. It's really pathetic though we (in the US) can't watch it on live TV.
