Is there something like a lighter Prostaff 97?

I love the new Prostaff 97. It plows through every ball, and it has a super-reliable response off the string bed, so I always know exactly what the ball is going to do and why.

It gets me a pretty good amount of power, and the spin is enough to be happy.

My only complaint is that the maneuverability is not quite where I need it to be.

I am wondering if there is anything with a comparable type of precision / plowy power but a little lighter, like .2 to .4 ounces less.

ex. If they had made an Ultra Tour in 16x19, I bet that would be close to perfect.

I saw some Yonex and Prokennex that look decent on paper. Any thoughts on those or any others?

Thanks!

Take the Pro Staff 97L and put a Leathergrip on it. My 97L with Fairway Leathergrip comes up to 300g from 290g. It is a nice Pro Staff with great maneuverability, power and control, and a wonderful platform raquet to put lead on it.
With the countervail in the raquet the 97L is very muted. For the best feeling you must play it without a dampener.

Good idea. But that 23mm beam width. Don’t know why they did that.

as previously mentioned, there is a PS97L, or you could add some leadtape to the handle, so the balance changes to more HL
thereby giving you more maneuverability. unless you really want a new racquet.

Angell K7 is quite similar in feel and response to 2017 PS 97 CV. K7 is a touch lighter and a touch faster. In everything else, they are very similar. PS97CV has a fuller, more solid feel on impact.
