That's why I said at best.I'd take prime Tsonga over any of these guys.

Fair enough. We can give Djokovic extra credit for 2020 AO going through Federer then thiem back to back.I give 07 Nadal credit for beating Djokovic. A win is a win.
Owning is very harsh. He was just a set and probably break up for some time.Peak Nishikori was owning Nadal in Madrid in 2014 before he injured himself.
Are you sure we watched the same Murray? Guy was a punching bag for the top guys in slam matches back in those days and only became no.1 thanks to all the Big 3 collapsing simultaneously in mid 2016. Old Fed went down meekly in 4 sets in 3 straight slams, don't see what makes him tougher. Agassi won as many sets against Fed in slams as old Fed did against Novak.And I rate Fed’s win higher. That doesn’t mean Djokovic’s win doesn’t deserve credit.
I’m not sure we watched the same matches. 2015-2016 were some of Murray’s best years. Sorry, but for me, Murray, Wawrinka, old Fed and slump Nadal are still ahead of Roddick, Hewitt, old Agassi and womanizer Safin. I think the latter group is underrated, btw, but they’re just not as strong as the former.
2004 wasn't, but 2005 was.But 2004-2005 Fed wasn't the best clay court player.
What the hell is happening to the former next-gen?
Strength of 2015-2016 basically lies with Wawrinka, and fed in bo3 tourneys. Murray and old roger did nothing at slam level.And I rate Fed’s win higher. That doesn’t mean Djokovic’s win doesn’t deserve credit.

Eh Rog probably would have won 3 slams without peakovic, so some credit to nole there. Murray was toothless at slams anyways in this period, without peakovic he maybe has a chance at ao 2015 playing a mediocre wawa and rg 2016 to play baby thiem lol, excluding wim 2016 which he won anyways.Strength of 2015-2016 basically lies with Wawrinka, and fed in bo3 tourneys. Madrid, the least characteristic tournament of the clay court swing from April to early June.Peak Nishikori was owning Nadal in Madrid in 2014 before he injured himself.
You are right boss. I meant more rog didn’t come close to winning any of those 15/16 finals. W15 was competitive for 2 sets. Ao16 was done after 2. Uso15 was his best shot but he missed endless amount of 2nd serves, basic FHs and of course many coming on those 23 BPs.Eh Rog probably would have won 3 slams without peakovic, so some credit to nole there. Slumpdal didn't even beat a top 5 player on clay the whole year, wawa did nothing in BO3. As opposed to 04-05 where without peakerer:
Rod probably would have won wimby 04, splits chances with wimby 05 against hewitt
Hewitt might get USO 04, YEC 04 maybe wimby 05, splits chances at USO 05
Agassi might get USO 04/05
Safin gets ao 04 and maybe YEC 04
Didn’t Alcaraz cramp after 2 sets and ceased to play proper tennis? Good battle for 2 sets at 1-1 then a virtual walkover.
You could say Djokovic didn’t face a prime ATG on any surface in 2015, 2016, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.
What a negative season for Rublev. In this 2024 the list of players who have more or less generated the upset with him is this;
He lost to the young Mensik in Doha, to Lehecka at Indian Wells, to Machac in Miami, to Popyrin in Monte Carlo, to Nakashima in Barcelona, to Muller in Rome, to Arnaldi at Roland Garros, to Giron in Halle, to Comesana at Wimbledon , with Tirante in Bastad, with Cerundolo in Umago, with Popyrin in Montreal, with Bu in Beijing, again with the young Mensik in Shanghai, and now against the old Wawrinka in Stockholm. All opponents against whom in recent years he would have lost once every death of the Pope.
