Is this record unique to Sampras?

Define "Wimbledon legend"? Players like Fred Perry, Lew Hoad and Roy Emerson are multiple Wimbledon champions who never lost a Wimbledon final.

Djokovic did this just by beating Federer at every slam alone. Same for Nadal except he never faced Fed at the USO. Federer did this by beating Agassi at AO, Moya at RG, Sampras at W, and Agassi at the USO. Phew, quite a close call for Fed it seems. He never beat a Big 4 player at a slam that the other player was a champion at.

I think Djokovic defeated every defending champions in 2015 apart from Wimbledon where he was the one defending it.

Come to think about it that Novak has defeated every defending champion in slam ( 2015 AO, RG , US and 2011 Wimbledon) and in wtf (2012 ).

Laver. He can he go one better than Sampras: beat Emerson at the AO, Rosewall at the FO, Newcombe at Wimbledon, and Ashe at the USO all in one year (1969). In fact, that's two better than Pete, since he did it in one year, and also went on to win the tourney in each case. I think that's going to be a pretty singular achievement even if we don't limit it to a single season ~ only "career slammers" [sic] are in contention for that.
Yes, beating all of those in one year AND winning each of the tournaments is better than Sampras or Fed.

Roy Emerson is 12-3 in major finals, with all 3 of the losses coming to Laver in 1962. Emerson won 10 major finals in a row he which he played from 1963-1967, which I believe is an all-time record for a major finals won streak.

Of course, these tournaments were before the open era, so amateurs only.

1961 Australian Championships F: Roy Emerson def. Rod Laver (1-6, 6-3, 7-5, 6-4)
1961 US Championships F: Roy Emerson def. Rod Laver (7-5, 6-3, 6-2)

1962 Australian Championships F: Rod Laver def. Roy Emerson (8-6, 0-6, 6-4, 6-4)
1962 French Championships F: Rod Laver def. Roy Emerson (3-6, 2-6, 6-3, 9-7, 6-2)
1962 US Championships F: Rod Laver def. Roy Emerson (6-2, 6-4, 5-7, 6-4)
1963 Australian Championships F: Roy Emerson def. Ken Fletcher (6-3, 6-3, 6-1)
1963 French Championships F: Roy Emerson def. Pierre Darmon (3-6, 6-1, 6-4, 6-4)
1964 Australian Championships F: Roy Emerson def. Fred Stolle (6-3, 6-4, 6-2)
1964 Wimbledon F: Roy Emerson def. Fred Stolle (6-4, 12-10, 4-6, 6-3)
1964 US Championships F: Roy Emerson def. Fred Stolle (6-4, 6-2, 6-4)
1965 Australian Championships F: Roy Emerson def. Fred Stolle (7-9, 2-6, 6-4, 7-5, 6-1)
1965 Wimbledon F: Roy Emerson def. Fred Stolle (6-2, 6-4, 6-4)
1966 Australian Championships F: Roy Emerson def. Arthur Ashe (6-4, 6-8, 6-2, 6-3)
1967 Australian Championships F: Roy Emerson def. Arthur Ashe (6-4, 6-1, 6-4)
1967 French Championships F: Roy Emerson def. Tony Roche (6-1, 6-4, 2-6, 6-2)
A great record against everyone--except THE GOAT.

Pete's 1990 US Open Championship was very impressive. He beat Muster, Lendl, McEnroe and Agassi. Pretty good for a 19 year old.
