Is this the only time ever that an Alcaraz - Djokovic Final feels underwhelming?

Team was nice when i was a child, they got to two champions finals and It was a Big thing but then the club became a whorehouse, when i Saw that there was no consistent sports plan and that everyone that got involved just wanted to take money short term, i stopped worrying about results, started to play and follow tennis more

I was cheering for them in both champions league final with my mates. Should have won atleast one , back then team was full of great players. Imo they should have won 2001 CL final against BM, Mendieta and Aimar were my favourite players from Valencia.

Yeah man the one against Bayern was the one, mendieta was a great captain and Aimar an incredible talented player, no way that in todays football a player like him would be in a team like valencia for so long, It was a time when players had hair on the legs

You're a good son, you need to relax and not take this place too seriously. Sinner is a better player and Carlos is a healthier athlete and let's settle with that. When Sinner hits his physical prime then we can see who is the final boss, it's too early to decide
You’re the best, Dad!

Alcaraz-Musetti would have been so much more exciting. Young guns with contrasting styles. The real heirs to Fedal's legacy.

I had a horrible vision that the match ends with Djokovic holding the trophy and Alcaraz on crutches
Musetti is a disappointment.
If he couldn't beat him on the clay of Roland Garros, much less was he going to do it on the grass of Wimbledon.

This match is huge. If Djoker wins, then he bags #25, which will end the talk about Djoker sharing the slam record with her. That would be a huge thing in the tennis world.

If Alcaraz wins, then he’d be in ATG-territory.

I unfortunately am going to miss some of this match, since I will be flying home from Las Vegas. The flight will have wifi for most of the trip.

Speaking of Vegas, Alcaraz is a -145 favorite when I last checked the Sports Book at the Mirage.

This match is big. Either way, some type of history will be made.

My vision is the reverse of yours with Carlitos holding the trophy and Novak on crutches.

I wish there was a laughing emoji to react to this post with.

Here are the facts Carlos is 2 years younger than Sinner, became number 1, 2 years earlier than Sinner, has 3 slams to Sinners 1 and leads the H2H right now despite having 2 less years experience on tour lol.

In what world is Sinner the better player than Alcaraz?? We saw both players playing their best tennis at the US open 2022 quarter final and Alcaraz won the match despite Alcaraz being 19 at the time and Sinner being 21.

When Sinner was 21 he had zero chance of winning any slams. Alcaraz at 21 is a much better than Sinner was at 21 and has 3 slams in th bag already. How good do you think Alcaraz will be in 2 years once he gains more consistency??

Talk about delusional.

Sinner is a great player don't get me wrong but literally nothing points to him being better than Alcaraz as it stands right now.

dont try man, they have fake arguments for everything, they will just say he is a late bloomer like fed and that he will end up winning more

It's the denial of reality sickness

Djokovic was also a late bloomer, tell us how many slams Djokovic had at the age of 22? Yeah just one. It's true that Sinner is a late bloomer and hasn't hit his peak yet

His Game and body are better fitted to pickleball, i wouldnt be surprised if he makes the transition in the upcomming years, he Will realize he has more chances of doing great there, tennis is too brutal and he will always be in the shadow of carlitos

Feels underwhelming because Carlos might win in 3 and Sinner would have pushed Carlos to a 5th setter.
Sinner was giving a chance and unable to do so at RG. Now it's Djokovic's chance to improve on last year's WB effort. Now if Djokovic wins, Sinner can keep in sight, trailing only by 3-1 slams.

Agreed. He’s not quite done improving yet. For one, his fitness likely gets a bit better. And secondly, he will gain more knowledge on how to make adjustments during the match.

It just doesnt get me as excited as it should.

There is an overwhelming feeling that Djokovic maybe should not be in the final.

Its because we all feel naturally at this point the match should be between Sinner and Alcaraz.

Those should be the Finals.

These are the times.

Thats THE rivalry.

Alcaraz-Djokovic feels like a weird momentary slip back in the past, when actually Sinner and Alcaraz have grown past him.

Djokovic has had a pretty free road and gets to play with house money, maybe this somehow makes this close.
The vibe is. So boring even with great shot making.

Congratulations to Alcaraz for his well-deserved championship. That was sheer dominance!

Congratulations also to Novak. The 24 slam champ will be back for sure.

I tought Djokovic would wake up for the final but in the end he's just played at his usual level this season.

This was the worst Djokovic ever seen in a slam f/sf.

Also Novak is one of the greatest Wimbledon players of all time and the greatest Wimbledon champ in the last 10 years or so. He’s still very fit and generally playing very well when he’s on. Why would anyone feel Novak shouldn’t be in the final?

Thats why.

But people like you cant analyze any tennis.

Who cares? He’s the GOAT. Carlitos did great and now it will be up to him to seen if he can win more than Novak did

What are you rambling about?

You argued Novak deserves his place in the final cause this is his 10th and he has 7 Wimbledons and hes generally playing well.

It was a dumb argument. Can you own up?

Novak deserves his place in the final because he won the matches needed for that. That’s it

Are you drunk?

Thats never what the initial argument was about, but the fact that the draw and injuries made this possible. Youre saying he quite literally belongs there by law? Yeah, youre a real genius. Your differentiation skills are off the charts. The blessed with brains one in the family ay? ;)

Blah, blah, blah

Go out and enjoy the day

The rules to reach the final are the same for everyone

The insights we get from you are astounding, we come a lot closer to evaluating ordeals with every "Post reply" you hit. We know now how the final was so lopsided. I want to thank you for that.

I mean, what do you want me to say? Is there anything more clownish than claiming a player doesn’t “deserve” what they won? There is no deserve. There is winning and there is losing. Novak was rightly in the final and lost. Big deal.

Clearly evaluating the fact that Novak shouldnt have been in the final was too much for you (as in, only the draw made it possible -- crazy this has to be explained), you couldnt grasp it and thought the WB final would be good because Novak won 7 times here. Maybe own up to the fact your estimation was wrong? You wont, we know.

You’re replying to a poster whose analysis level stood at “This guy won the most” and that’s it.

lol, when did I say anything about the final being good or bad. And what would that have to do with him “deserving” the final.

Really, best not to post drunk
