Everything looks legit. They probably just changed the style of the etchings at the factory. Did you purchase from an authorized Yonex dealer?
it is a famous store I usually purchase from, my last Yonex had Country initials at the end, this one does not, this is weird

A lot of these engravings and numbers were used to spot counterfeits in the past.
Does anyone else that bought Yonex rackets right about now, noticed these changes?

there was someone else who posted their black ez98 with the same engraving format. it looks like yonex is doing away with the country specific serial numbers
the 4 blue ez98s i received last month all had the older format

i thought the codes were for the region the racquet would be exported to rather than the country of origin.

Yeah, they were the region they were sold in. Not where they were produced. Most of mine say US on them, but Yonex isn't producing anything in the US.
