Is tomorrow the day Alcaraz finally loses to a player younger than him?

Will he?

As of April 10, 2025, Carlos Alcaraz has not lost to a player younger than him on the ATP tour. Will tomorrow be the first?

He has played 285 career matches to date, and is yet to lose a match to a player younger than him. Will this be broken tomorrow?

Will he lose to the talented Arthur Fils at the Monte Carlo masters, who is 1 year younger?

Not making any projections of who wins or loses.
It’s clear: if Fils , who’s been rolling, can maintain composure and focus while continuing to play well, he can pull this off in 3. It should be fun to watch.
Agreed. But his streak has gotta end somehow, Nadal’s own ended 3 months before he turned 21, losing to a player younger than him.

You’re in for a surprise tomorrow brother, mark my words

Let’s see but I believe super aggression doesn’t work against Carlos. Defend well against him and he will start coughing errors and go for too much , his poor short selection will creep in. Why do you think even a super washed up Djokovic troubles Carlos everywhere ?( except Wimbledon)

Fils is playing at home and Alcaraz will be bothered by the heavily biased crowd. I take Fils in 3

1st Djokovic is not washed up.

This washed up Djokovic is still a slam contender , his standard is too high, his movement is still there , just lacks focus , motivation and his BH back
Again wrong.

Djokovic is not washed up. He doesn't bring his best level day to day because he is old and doesn't have physicality anymore.

He had great run to the title in Olympics which was not washed up Djokovic at all and same way great run till AO semis but got injured.

The level he played vs raz in both events is enough to win slams today. Problem for Djokovic is he didn't bring this level for rest of the 14 events. I would say 15 since he didn't do anything in AO semis vs zverev as well.

Raz got clobbered.

His performance post Olympics have been too poor by his standard , not washed up for a top 10 player but for his standard he is. Is he capable of winning slam? Very much because his level is still very high at times.

That's correct and I don't want to make this a Djokovic thread.

Since you agreed Djokovic can bring this level, then you have to also agree that raz didn't lose to washed up Djokovic and then we are good.

Yes raz can lose to someone playing highest caliber defense but that is just Djokovic Zverev and maybe MAYBE sinner on clay. In fact raz is the best defensive player on clay today.

Broke Rafa's record.
- Fils is now the youngest player to make the quarter-finals at each of the first three Masters 1000 events in a season since the format began in 1990.
Can Fils win RG in the coming seasons and end the drought in French men's tennis since 1983?

That’s if they even make it to each other. Without the ban, yes I think he would

Do you think Sinner is eating burger on his break and getting fat? He’s making plan on how to beat Carlos on clay , with an improved defense and movement Sinner will be a nightmare for Carlos everywhere.

im confident he will beat him resoundly on a natural surface this year. He’s due a big title on clay/grass

5 years on tour and record still goes on . We will see.

Wonder why lost gen 1.0 and 2.0 don’t have ounce of talent Sinneraz possess.

I seem to remember Borg having this "record". He first lost to a younger player in the final of the 1978 Stockholm Open, when John McEnroe beat him in straight sets.

Bjorn was 22 years 5 months old. More significantly, if UTS's numbers are accurate then that loss came in his 566th professional match.

Remember that number the next time someone says Borg wasn't burned out by tennis when he quit.

Carlos is 21 years and 11 months.

If you're serious you should try to receive some help. If you're just trolling you at least made me angry.
These are no records at all: You're talking not about wins, not finals, not semi-finals. You are talking about quarter-finals lol. And not all of them of course, not even half of them, the first three lol.

I am as serious as a tennis fan who did a simple search for "Fils Rublev Monte Carlo" and looked under the news tab checking scores.

Don't go and drive automobiles if you're triggered so easy by trivial records I didn't make up, the media did.

Now you can go and be mad at the sources everyone else will see too. Have at it.

Solution: Therapy.

Alcaraz is playing WAY too well to lose to anyone this week :D so this thread is PATHETIC.

I would lean towards Alcaraz in this matchup personally. Both can be streaky but Fils much more so imo. I think he he will end up going for too much and won’t find a healthy balance of aggression and control. Interesting matchup regardless, look forward to seeing it
