Isner has Mono

USTA website says that the USTA has given the wildcard back to the French, and they will assign to another French player. WTF is the point of that?

I actually think that giving the wildcard back to the French federation is probably the best option. Since the best qualified US players after Isner are ineligible, you'd basically be giving it away to someone who didn't deserve it. Now the French can use it to admit one of their promising juniors into the draw instead. I just presume that the French will be giving back their reciprocal wild card for the US Open so that we can use it for one of our guys this year...?

(The unfortunate thing is the timing. If Isner had been diagnosed and withdrew from the tournament just 3 days earlier, Levine or Jenkins could have used the wildcard instead.)

Isner the 6f9inch journeyman AKA karlovic 2.0, why is isner admired around here compared to Donald young who's enemy number 1?

Isner and young have so far had similar pro careers
Both have been handed million wildcards, both hit the top 100, good runs at the USO but Young gets the most abuse on these forums?

Who is "you"? If you are referring to me and what I posted, could you please single out the "abuse" that I've heaped upon poor Donald?

I don't see why Young is slammed so much here either. As you said, him and Isner have had similar careers so far... but the fact that Young is 4 years younger and accomplished so much is more impressive to me.

By the way, Isner seems like a decent kid, but I'm not a fan of his game style. Young's game is a lot more fun to watch in my opinion.

Young just doesn't deserve this particular FO wild card because he is not the most qualified, and didn't even attempt to go through the qualifier draw in Paris. Mute point anyway since it seems that the USTA decided to give the wild card back...

for me its the hat sideways during matches and the big jewelry i makes me dislike young. that and he has the "my way is perfect" attitude, and "i dont need coaching" whereas isner is a very coachable player.

Holy crap, how come Mono always bugs the tennis pros, but I hardly hear about it in other sports, such as NBA/FIFA whatever? wtf.
