Isner second serve bounce height

Just watching Monfils v Isner and the commentators said Isner's second serve kicks to 7 and a half feet! That's just mind boggling, pretty much to the point where I'm wondering if they've got that wrong?

Anyone know for sure? I'm sure a lot of you will have theories and speculate, which is a shame that we have to do that nowadays with technology such as hawk-eye, because that gives you this exact info. Just wish it was available for us all to see. I'm guessing that's where the commentators have got their info from, I just wondered if anyone could confirm it, there's always the chance that they read it wrong or not quite remembered the stat correctly

I saw that serve in person against Fish in Atlanta--there's no question some kicks were over 7 feet--1 or 2 over Fish's head and into the stands. I was sitting courtside and am very familiar with that stadium and court (it is my home club) and the bounce on several kicks was just incredible!

Yes his 2nd serve is kicking too high, he was even trying such high kickin serves against Rochus on grass at Newport. Would be funny if he will play Rochus on some high bouncing HC tournament:D maybe he would need to go after aces, just will be making those high-bouncing serves over Rochus head:D

Rochus, the same guy who has a winning record against Karlovic ;)
Speaking of which, I remember a graphic that showed Karlovic's second serve reached 2.1 meters (almost 6' 11") by the time it reached the baseline. Not sure if would go higher past that or at what point they got the Isner number.
Assuming it was from the apex, I could believe it.

When he was playing Fish, I saw it kick over Fish's head and into the stands. The backboard thing was at least 7 ft. at that tournament btw.

Some of his kick serves vs Lu were way high. It's highly reasonable to assume he can make the bounce over 7.

I have stood on the court (as a linesman) right behind Isner, and can confirm that his kick serve exceeds 7 feet. I actually thought it was over 8 feet, but that is simply a guesstimate on my part.

There are others that can hit a high, but much slower kick serve. The
amazing thing is that he's hitting serves like this with serious velocity.
