Isospeed REXXXER - New oval poly on the market

So anyone else tried this string? Played it for an hour , super legit string. How can I commit though when there are only two websites in Europe selling it and may go extinct in the foreseeable future?

Granted I used it for coaching but it lasted a long time.

This string is indeed very good on all aspects, love it (and impactsound is awesome) . Just screwed up the crosses of a stringjob which forces me to try a hybrid with it as I was able to save the mains, I will put Solinco Confidential 1.15 in the crosses and order some new sets of this excellent Isospeed strings.

Where abouts do you order your excellent Isospeed strings from?

Are you still stringing the hybrid Klip/Rexxxer at 55#/52#?

Hi! Right now I've got VS Touch 16 with Rexxxer, but still at 55/52, yes. 8-B

Though lately I've been playing more and more with my other 97HD that's got Black Knight x Max Power at 49/46.
My second HD is ~7 months younger, yet I've gotten the two racquets re/strung the same number of times now total.

Curiously, it feels like I get "the most" out of the gut/Rexxxer during sessions with my coach, who hits heavier and with more spin (and variety, for that matter) than anyone else I typically hit with/against, whereas I seem to prefer the poly/poly in any other context. Not sure what to make of that observation.

I think with the gut/poly and hitting with someone that hits a heavier ball you get better control with that combo. At least for me I do. I noticed that over the years. So mainly I feel my best setup against heavier hitting players is the gut main hybrid setup.
Thanks for your update.

From Isospeed website:

A different approach for sure. I´ve never heard of oval poly. It is also quite expensive.
I've got 2 sets of this. Will test sometime. But, I've played with another oval shaped string, 1.24/1.28 called Stringlab Orbitour Pro Gold, also made in Austria. Check it out. Amazing string at an amazing price.

Bringing this thread back up on top for two reasons:

1- Wow, great string. I use it in gut/poly hybrid. The spin and sound is awesome. Overall control is really good. I think I will replace my rpm rough with it.

2- Is there something similar but not butt ugly green?

Stringlab Orbitour Gold 1.24-1.28!!!
Oval shaped, made in Austria, too (pro-t-one, Medri)

I've just installed a full bed of Rexxxer in my Prince Tour 100L (tuned up to 330 g strung), with a pretty open 16x18 pattern and highly polarized (on of my most spin-loaded frames). Everybody here is talking about using it as crosses due to its oval shape, but my theory is that it may have an interesting additional effect that flat strings (such as irukandji) don't, and that is that when the ball pulls them in a topspin swing, they actually roll over the cross and seek to lay flat on the contact surface of the ball, allowing for more push on the snapback on top of an extra boost due to the "uncoiling" of the string rolling back.
Well that last part may actually be insignificant, but I think the rolling may indeed generate more bite in topspin swings. It may even help with control on flat shots, as my intuition tells me there may be a kind of treshold speed for the rolling to occur, and below it, it actually produces less topspin and flattens out the shot. Anyone else has tried it (a full bed I mean) and has some feedback on this?
I'll be sharing my experience as soon as I can!

I really found it one of the best fits for my very open Elevate FS 98 V2.

I also found it enabled me hitting flat much safer as the gaps became much smaller. Ball came in n' out fast, very good directional control. Not as spin friendly as other strings I've tried.
As for the sound, I've heard much louder sounds.

I have a frame strung with and old pack Tonic+ Longevity and Rexxxer crosses. In my other two rackets I have my two usual setups: full bed BHS7T and a gut/S7T hybrid. So far, it's a livelier, snappier experience. Not a whole lot of difference in spin production, but I suspect I didn't really attempt to milk it by blasting the cover off the ball. At times the stringbed response felt like the ball would fly long, but it actually dips in. It's going to take a bit of time to get used to it. I don't think that was the loudest, noisiest string I've ever played with: when I received my 2014 RF97A, it was strung with 16/1.30mm gauge 4G. It sounded like a gun after the tension dropped a bit; never played anything like it since.

On a derivative topic, I've looked to see if reels of it or something similar I've never tried like Grapplesnake Irukandji were available at TWE or some of their EU-based competitors. It doesn't seem to be the case at the moment. It keeps the GAS at bay I guess...

"Felt like it would fly long, but it actually dips in". That's a feeling I often get with S7T. Particularly in a full bed on a Blade 98s, or crossed with some round poly. Really noticeable when fresh.

Btw I did try the Rexxxer full bed and wasn't too impressed, although I really didn't give it a good go (don't use much that frame). Maybe I'll give it another go later in one of my usuals.

By the way, I take it you use S7T on the crosses when hybriding with gut? How does it fare in terms of longevity? It feels like a really sharp one, even though it's only 7 sided.

Poly crosses always. I didn't find the durability to be awful to be honest. Not as good as the most slippery round poly of course, but good enough to play until I find that the gut lost too much tension. That being said, I play 18x20, I'm not a big string breaker and I haven't found a round poly cross that I've liked. I also play a lot of indoor clay, so string durability isn't that dissimilar between different string setups.

Irukandji you can feels reels , around 100 euros a reel.
I've only just ordered a set to try it and see how it compares to rexxxer.
Have you tried hybriding S7T with rexxxer crosses? Must be quite the spinny experience.

To be honest, I don't have much interest into poly hybrids. Do tell us what you think about Irukandji when compared to Rexxxer, I'm curious about it.
