ITA National Indoor Kickoff Weekend

Washington has always done a good job hosting as far as I can remember, they have clear webcams on the main 6 courts. Probably not on the 6 other courts.

This is what happens when you let other school host. We got too jelly-spined here at UGA with letting others host. We know we do the best job.

Doesn't it get really rainy and kind of crappy weather there around this time of the year ? and this is indoor tournament. and you guys have no webcams indoors.

Feddie, what's with the webcam crying all the time? This has been a theme of yours for years. Get over it please.

Have a good day.

If I recall correctly, UW had some serious webcam issues at the beginning of the 2011 tournament, but had it mostly corrected by the semis and finals.

FYI, Illinois and UVA are the other two hosts for this tournament. Neither provide webcam coverage. Let's be thankful we have this.

Georiga has never hosted this event. They only have 4 indoor courts, as we discovered with that debacle last season in the NCAA team final. You need 12 courts to host the Team Indoors.

Here are the 16 headed to Seattle and the bigger matchups they have in the next 2 weeks. There will probably be some movement in the rankings before the brackets come out though not a ton.

#1 Virginia - off
#2 USC - Texas, Cal, Stanford
#3 UCLA - San Diego, Stanford, Cal
#4 Ohio State - Georgia, Texas A&M
#5 Duke - Illinois, Tennessee, Michigan, Notre Dame
#6 Georgia - Ohio State
#7 Pepperdine - Texas
#8 Oklahoma - Indiana, Kentucky, Tulsa
#9 Kentucky - Oklahoma, Illinois, Notre Dame
#11 Mississippi State - Ole Miss
#12 Florida - Florida State
#13 Ole Miss - Mississippi State
#14 Cal - USC, UCLA
#19 Tennessee - Illinois, Duke
#22 Washington - Santa Clara, Boise State
#26 Texas A&M - TCU, Ohio State

These are the potential pairings in Seattle. I know the ITA usually doesn't like to pair up conference members in the Round of 16 but I don't think they can avoid an SEC matchup this year since there are 7 SEC schools in the final 16.

1. Virginia vs. 16. Washington
8. Oklahoma vs. 9. Kentucky
4. Ohio State vs. 13. Cal
5. Duke vs. 12. Florida

6. Pepperdine vs. 11. Mississippi State
3. UCLA vs. 14. Tennessee
7. Georgia vs. 10. Ole Miss
2. USC vs. 15. Texas A&M

If this is correct when the draw comes out, it would be very interesting because OU would have been playing Kentucky twice within a few weeks. Both schools are very deep in talents and within 1 spot of each other in the ranking.

Last year the bracket was drawn up with no concern for duplicate meetings or conference affiliation.

I hope they've found a work-around for the facility issue they had two years ago.

Last year UCLA was an 8th seed but instead of them playing the 9th seed which was Stanford to avoid the conference matchup the ITA moved Stanford to the bottom half of the bracket and they played the 7th seed Baylor while UCLA played the 10th seed Duke.

You're right. I'm thinking of 2011 when Tennessee and UGA played each other in the first round, when UGA could have been switched with Texas A&M or Duke to avoid the conference matchup.

Does anyone know if the video at USC is working? Last year they were toast most of the time.

Looks like that's a no on that piece of ____ scoreboard @ USC. It still has Georgia Tech vs. Fresno State posted even though USC had a doubleheader today. Sure would be nice if they could get it working by Friday for their match against Texas.

I'm usually more surprised if it's working properly. Sad but it is what it is. OSU had three columns of scores, one for doubles and two for singles. But after the doubles finished they posted the singles scores there and it was impossible to see what happened after the first sets. LOL. Do these people even look at their own scoreboards? Sad state of affairs. In college tennis you are given tidbits of info and it's like solving a mystery to figure out who won. And even if the scoreboard appears to be working, you celebrate a victory only to find out later that the scoreboard was screwed up and you're team actually lost. How many here have experienced that little bit of pleasure?

I'm guessing if a single lightbulb was out in the men's bathroom at the football stadium they would have it fixed in less than 5 minutes, but alas this is just tennis...why would the 4 time National Champions need a working scoreboard?
