ITF announces professional tennis restructure

Maybe they are doing this so Federer and Nadal can be a the top of the ATP tour into their 70s.

Actually, they are probably doing this for the benefit of the ITF and the other governing bodies. It will make their lives easier no one else seems to matter.

Case in point:

Oliynynova won her first career ITF title last week in Greece. Now 17, her big challenge will be overcoming the circuit changes. Oliynykova's hard-earned WTA ranking of No. 848 will be totally wiped out with the new rules, which discard results at the $15,000 level.

Tennis has unsolvable problems, and the key one is this: IT'S TOO FRIGGIN' EXPENSIVE TO START A CAREER, hence why nearly all pros stem from affluent families.

The international scope of tennis is the main reason for this. Who can afford to send their kids all over the world every year? Only rich people. It's an elitist game, unfortunately.
