- I am really not down for Fed’s final match ever featuring Team World, especially Tiafoe and Sock of all people… “team world”-ing, if that’s a verb I can create. There’s the potential for some frat boy stuff which I really dgaf about in general, but it may cheapen things a bit here
- The day session ticket holders have been totally screwed here jfc

Exactly. Instinctually Saturday makes the most sense for, well, the biggest event. But yeah, honestly feel like that's partly Roger not wanting to drag the story of his retirement on and for it to overshadow everything else. But like, Rog, who are you kidding?

To make all 3 days "valuable" all match wins on Day 1 are worth 1 point.....then Day 2 is 2 and 3 is 3.
You need 13 points to win so even winning the first 8 matches means 12 points and 1 short of victory. Obviously that allows for the extreme case of a team losing first 8 matches but winning last 4 and the event. But it's also weird a team can win 3 matches on Day 2 and be tied 6-6 despite 3-5 match record overall.
Day 1 matches are just near meaningless by the format rendered as there's the more reasonable dubious scenario of the following:
Day 1: Team A goes 4-0 (4-0)
Day 2: Teams tie 2-2 (4-4)
Day 3: Team B goes 3-1 (9-3)
Team B wins 13-11.
Now laughably enough the last Laver Cup saw Team Europe win 7 of 8 matches in the first 2 days and then won the first match of Day 3. This cancelled the remaining 3 matches so I don't know how those ticket holders felt. I even opened a thread about it, that they shouldn't strictly play by the rules this year, because no fan will care about it. But they want to promote this stupid one-sided exhibition as a serious contest. Sometimes the talk is even similar to a Wrestling storyline when Federer acts like he asked Borg if it's okay that he plays doubles with Rafa.
