It's rainin' Storm GTs

I love to stay behind the tennis racket tech at least 10 yrs. That way I can afford to dabble in 5 or 6+ rackets to 1 racket at current racket prices.

In Pure Storms I started out with a Pure Storm 95 LTD GT+ (Euro only I think) 18x20 and it had become my favorite long body racket, of which I have had and have many.

Then one day I was using TW racket finder to look for a racket like my LTD GT+ but with a bigger sweet spot and standard length, 27". I discovered the Pure Storm GT 98. I put that on a note card. Some time later I meet up with a TT'r who has six PSGTs, so I buy two. "Oh Boy I lovvvvve those two rackets!"

"Chatting" with another TT'r who lives about 60 miles up the road he says he has a couple of Pure Storm GTs in his racket stash. So I trade him a couple of rackets for the PS GT Tours. I think that is getting close to 60 rackets, nearly 30 each way, we have traded in just a year!!

I now have 2xPS GT Tours. 2xPS GTs, and one PS 95 LTD GT+.

Are there any other "red/white" Pure Storm GT models I should try and snag?

I have a Pure Storm GT LTD that I hit with every now and then for fun. It is such a low powered racquet that you can really put a swing into the ball and have some fun while still keeping the ball in.

Hmmm. Those Storm GTs look mighty familiar!:giggle:

@mad dog1 , I would have posted this in the "racketholics" sub-forum but I was warned off that the "racketholics" forum is for "holics" of current production. Even the "classic" rackets sub-forurm subtly warned me one time that even though the forum says "classic and out of production" rackets some of my preferred brands/models were not really "appropriate." Too bad there isn't a "crap racket" sub-forum, that might be counter productive to the bottom line.

Ah, all ‘holics welcome in that thread! I often post about a blast from the past racquet that I’ll pull out from my collection to hit with. If anyone (possibly me?) shooed you away, I’m certain they were joking (if it was me, I know I would have been joking). :)

I do love me some Storms! Still have the Pure Storm Team GT, the wonderful 59RA 100” 16x20 platform stick! What great sticks the Storm GT series are! :)

Seriously this one of my favorite racquet lines, starting all the way from the original Pure Control and Soft Control in '96 (before I was born :-D) and all the way up to the Pure Control of 2014 and Strike VS of the last couple years. Well done @graycrait !

^^ loving the pic with the wine next to the racquets. A fun hit it was I imagine.

The woman playing with me there is a good friend from France. That is a bottle of French wine she brought.
It is a private club out in the boonies, so a bit of drink isn't an issue on court, especially since we often have Friday wine club matches in the summer.
A different club I am a member of in another county has a bar/pub inside of it.

Nice! Awesome grass courts too! We have 1 resort that has grass courts here in Southern California.. not sure where the next closest one is.. probably 1000’s of KMs away.

Have you ever tried the Prince Diablo Tour MP? 100, 27.25, 62 flex, 16x18?
I've always wanted to hit a Diablo Tour MP but have not run across one. 100" 16x18 must be a string eater of sorts. For everyday play the Pure Storm GT is fun for me, but I have not given up on Head Rad OS's, especially the Bumble Bee and IG Youtek. Quite different rackets but I think play unique among the Rad OS's I have.

I still have 22 Prince rackets:)

@dak95_00 , A few years ago I had 10+ PCG 100LBs all cut down to between 27-27.5, many 27.25". That racket is a 100" 16x18 with fairly moderate RA so probably is a first cousin to the Diablo.

Yes they are! They share DNA and grommets. They have the same exact head. I forget but one is more flexible than the other. I think the Diablo has a lower swingweight too.

I'm sorry. I was just poking the bear when I brought up this racquet because you'd said you were set for a few years with your new love, Babolats. I thought it would be funny to wave a Prince extended stick in front of you to get you thinking. If I don't like it, I'll send it your way.
