Many distinguished users here and astute observers of the game at the end of the 2020 were saying that Djokovic is effectively done after the outcome of the 2020 RG Final and that Nadal winning the 2020 RG was massive and that he have effectively won the Goat race with that title.

Right now that may well be a correct assessent regarding the slam race by said observers you have cited.
I personally disagree as if all things remain equal matches between Federer and Nadal will determine who people lean towards in any greatest of 21st discussion. However i guess some people may have Nadal and Djokovic top 2.

I think Djokovic is losing confidence in his game.

Historically, no one bounces back better than Djokovic after slam losses.

The only way people beat him as most have said is to play out of their mind. I think he knows that people can’t do that all the time.

Unless Ivan knows more than he lets on, it just seems to be speculation.

In terms of #1, Med is 2000 points behind Djokovic. If Djokovic plays Paris and/or WTF and gets halfway decent results, he should be pretty safe of finishing #1.

I guess he'll play at least WTF. Unless Medvedev wins IW or at least reaches the final, the #1 race may be a foregone conclusion.
