I've never met ONE person who likes Andy Murray - and I'm from Britain!!

ugliness is not criteria to rate any player
Murray got talent so he deserves respect
if he have peaked between 2004 - 2007 without fed
he would have 10 slams minimum

2 slams in such a competition is a difficult task

AO 2004 - not beating Safin
FO 2004 - not beating Coria or Gaudio
W04 - how the hell is he beating 04 Roddick when he lost to 09 Roddick?
US Open 2004 - Pim Pim, Agassi, Roddick could take Murray out, Safin too

AO 2005 - not beating Safin
FO - Nadal has arrived
Wimbledon - Roddick without Federer doesn't change his game and wins, Murray could win if Roddick met Hewitt and lost
US Open - tossup between him and Agassi

AO 2006 - wins due to a weak field
FO 2006 - Murray beats Nadal at FO (sarcasm)
W06 - Roddick is playing very aggressive (remember he doesn't change his game because Federer isn't around)
US Open 06 - tossup between him and Roddick

AO 2007 - tossup between him, Gonzalez and Roddick
FO - Lol
Wimbledon - Nadal, Djokovic, Roddick are threats here
US Open 2007 - Murray, Roddick and Djokovic would be equal

Take Federer out of the equation, and Roddick doesn't change his game, keeps playing agressive and gets better, as well as having to play Safin at AO 2004-2005 which he does not win, not even reaching Nadal at FO, plus Djokovic being a contender in 2007, how the hell is Murray winning 10 slams? I didn't even mention guys like Blake, Agassi, Nalbandian, Pim-pim, Hewitt etc etc. Sorry, not happening!

Andy is not British, he is forced to represent the repressive UK. He is Scottish, much better heritage.

I'm being serious, EVERY SINGLE person who I've talked to about tennis has never had a single positive thing to say about Murray.

Responses about him range from "oh, I just turn off the TV whenever he's playing", to "I saw him live and couldn't connect with him at all - I ended up supporting his opponent", to "whining twat", to "hands down the most unpleasant person in sport".

And Britain is meant to be the place that 99% of Murray supporters live.

You guys may think that Nadal is the most hated tennis player out there - but that's only in tennis forums (if you actually ask most people, they love Nadal).

In the real world - Murray takes the title of most hated sportsman of all time with superlative ease.

So what is it about Andy Murray that makes him the most hated sportsman of all time?

He is a world class player, he got there by being a damn good player, not because of his popularity...the boy can flat out play. As for his game and 'liking him'? I can watch him play but id rather watch Rajeev Ram

whats the proof that you are from britain and the haters of andy murray from britain also

Guys, as I said earlier, there's no point trying to reply to him. This thread is more than a year old and the OP is banned anyway, so he couldn't reply to you even if he wanted to!

Do you live in a kind of fantasy land? I'm not saying Murray would have achieved all that anyway but, then again, how the heck can we ever know? Trying to conjure up mythical matchups with players from different eras that never happened and never can happen is utterly pointless speculation. It means nothing.

It's perfectly possible that Murray and all the other current top players are playing at a much higher level than Safin, Roddick and Hewitt ever did in their heyday. But the point is we can never know. All we can go on is the results they achieved from their respective careers in their respective eras. These are the only hard facts we have to go on and the only ones worth discussing and comparing. Not who might have beaten whom in whatever year at such-and-such a tournament. That is just pointless!

Considering that the post I was responding to was pure speculation and unrealistic, I believe that you should have raged at the idiot for bringing the idea up in the first place. If you believe Federer is playing better than 2005, then good for you, if you believe Ferrer is better than Safin, be my guest, if you believe that Murray is better than Sampras then kudos for having an opinion and believing in it - but I, on the other hand, do not subscribe to such theories and am not swayed by what trolls think.

You think Murray would beat Nadal at FO 2005-2007

You think Murray would beat Safin at AO 2004/2005

You think Murray would beat Roddick at Wimbledon 04ish?

These are just some of the players he would definitely have to beat to win 10 slams.

It doesn't really matter what we believe or don't believe though, does it?

I, on the other hand, do not subscribe to such theories and am not swayed by what trolls think.

Good for you.

You think Murray would beat Nadal at FO 2005-2007

Probably not, given that he has yet to make the final of a clay tournament.

You think Murray would beat Safin at AO 2004/2005

I really don't know.

You think Murray would beat Roddick at Wimbledon 04ish?

I think it's possible.

These are just some of the players he would definitely have to beat to win 10 slams.

Of course, I assume you are talking about present day Murray being transported back in time to 2004-5? The Murray of that time would probably not have beaten any of those players given that he was just a teenage rookie at the time.

But, as I say, it is all idle speculation anyway!

Andy Murray has got to be the ugliest grand slam champion in men's tennis history. Has anyone ever looked at Murray's vampire teeth yuck! He's definitely the ugliest guy in the top 10 easy.

You are a twit, and a M-Ron (figure it out), and I do find it hilarious and ironic that you are critiquing looks with your posting name being what it is! LMAO!!!!

Your survey of your mother, father and second cousin provides a fair and balanced sample size. This conclusively shows that Murray is the most hated sportsman ever.

You truly are both a scholar and a gentleman.

This=AWESOME!!! People are such fools.

Probably not, given that he has yet to make the final of a clay tournament.

Definitely not.

I really don't know.

I don't think anyone could have beaten Safin at AO 2005, as or 2004, if he wasn't tired in the final and had match play before the AO 2004, the same could be said.

I think it's possible.

Did you watch the W04 final?

But, as I say, it is all idle speculation anyway!

Right, except you started on me when I wasn't even the original author of this hypothetical scenario, I was only replying to fastgrass. However because he was hypothetically building Murray up you decided to leave him be. I, then hypothetically state logical reasons why Murray wouldn't win 10 slams, decide I am in the wrong for creating myths and talking nonsensical. This forum clearly lacks double standards......

Murray is all kinds of cool. Great tactician, tongue-in-cheek British humor, and seems like a great guy. Those who hate him, or any other tennis player are wasting a lot of their own lives with unnecessary negative emotions.

Have at it.

I would think it would be Djokovic, then Murray.
Always comes in second.

An interesting thread that was written before Andy had won anything, and when he did come across as constantly complaining on court; but progresses through his USO, first Wimbledon and Olympics, when people started warming to him. And now, 14 years later, he's considered a feminist hero and fashion icon across the globe!
