Jack Draper switches to Vuori (leaving Nike)?

Nike literally does not care about anyone not names Alcaraz or Sinner.

Tiafoe never sold Nike clothes. Hell, he didn't even wear a recent shoe for many years and wore PE tanks not for sale.
Fritz DEFINITELY never sold any Nike gear. He also wore old shoes not for sale.
Draper is big in GB where people are so brand-hungry they will sell white Nikes and Adidas anyway

Say what you will about Nike (yes, I'm biased, but even I can admit the last ~2 years have been...less than stellar) but the Vuori gear is insanely boring. Hope Draper got a bag for this but it's not like this is going to be any sort of style upgrade.
Vuori's Kore shorts are the best tennis shorts - by a long shot. Great for running too. Or lounging on the couch, going to dinner - pretty much anything. Of course they're overpriced, but the key is catch them on sale - or get a discount code.

Presumably it’s a win/win; second tier Nike guys are in a tough negotiating position with Sinner & Alcaraz locked in to long term contracts having already won multiple majors - reminds me of Novak having to float around with other brands due to the Fedal situation.

Even their kits are nowhere near what Nike did for fedal 10+ years ago

Sinner's green polo on RG was horrendous and alcaraz's kit had some cool colors but was the same boring uninspired design half the nike players were using
I thought they were fine. Everything has already been done. Every color has already been used so has every pattern.

We just get colors we like at a time we are looking for a new shirt otherwise we think things look "bad"

vuori is Finnish.

(the word has two meanings in the Finnish language it is either a mountain (like Kilimanjaro), lining (of a jacket, for example))
It’s an American brand though.
Vuori is a contemporary American clothing brand founded in 2015 and based in San Diego County, California. The brand started as an athletic and athleisure retailer, but has since expanded to sell lifestyle apparel and other merchandise. Vuori products are available at Nordstrom, REI, Equinox, and other retailers, as well as in 35 of their own stores across the US and UK. The brand plans to open 100 more stores

Apparently they are signing up lots of Brits both male and female... their website does have a %20 welcome code so not too bad. Still pricey stuff....
If you buy online they ship direct from CA, so for someone like me living in the UK it can take up to a week to receive your order - not a big deal for me as I'm generally not in a huge rush. They may well have multiple distribution centres in the US making shipping faster - someone will have to inform me.

Their 20% off for new customers is obviously factored into their pricing and there's nothing stopping you making new email addresses every time you make an order as the discount is linked to you signing up to their newsletter.

Their main competitor right now is obviously Lululemon, however Vuori's prices for equivalent items generally start much higher. LLL only offer a 10% off discount for new email sign-ups, however their sale prices can be up to 50% off. Vuori's reductions on the other hand barely stretch behind 20% off the RRP. I'm aware that in the US REI stocks them, so you may be able to get much better discounts there but for now Vuori is hardly stocked by anyone else in the UK.

Most of their items don't include the large Vuori text that Giron often has on his kit - this is obviously to amplify their name within tennis. He often chooses some great combinations even if they're block colours without pattern. My favourite kit of his was the yellow on yellow kit he wore at Indian Wells - I can't see many amateurs pulling this combination off though.

If the rumours around them signing Jack Draper are true then I expect them to be having a big push into the UK/European market and their prices will continue to be vastly inflated versus the cost of the material to make their gear. I think they're trying to be even more exclusive than LLL but many have already started to complain about their drop in quality and hike in price so they'll have to be careful not to alienate their existing customer base.

what do you mean? only professional players can use that colour?

Selection of Colour on clothes is more to match your skin colour, not if you're pro or amateur
No, I am kidding. I mean the yellow on yellow - it's a heck of a statement. And I agree, some people can just rock less conventional or brighter colours.

Certainly. the "vuori is Finnish" was tongue in cheek, as on these boards it is common to state somebody is Finnish(ed) instead of Finished. And I don't mean the brand had no future, it was just word play, a joke. I have never tried the products.

I am certain the brand name comes from Finnish language though, because I see not other reason for using the word (as I assume it has no meaning in any other language).

They're FAR from finished! They're one of the biggest success stories in the apparel industry...They recently had an 8.5 Bil valuation and were funded 855 Mil. They're opening stores in 22 countries. Their product retention is among the highest at 85% while Nike is near the bottom and falling. Their Kore shorts are awesome for tennis, but they also have a tennis line. The sweats are the best i've had. The're on the expensive side, so they're not for everybody, but everything's pricey these days!

I wish I'd have picked up the Kore shorts in this colourway before it got discontinued. One thing I like about Vuori is that even if a lot of their clothing is block colours they have a lot of colour choices and some nice detailing such as the waistband on the shorts.
Are you talking about this reddish color? They still have them! Its their most popular color Go to their online site.

They have 'Summer Red' now which is more of a washed down version. The 'Saltwater Red' is now only available in the sale in size XXL (on the UK site anyway, but they ship from CA).

Yeah, your right. I have the saltwater red, it has a black waist band. I saw the "summer red" at their store a couple days ago. its very close in color. I picked up the Bluegrass color... its also pretty good! Its a san Diego company... The guy who owns it's a good friend from Encinitas.

I'm surprised that brands like Vuori and Lulu don't sell the actual outfits that their tennis players wear. You can't find the Vuori shirts that tennis players wear (with branding) same with the Lulu stuff their players wear.

I have ordered my first pair of the 7" Banks Session Short in linen texture 'Bluegrass'. It's such a nice colour but I didn't want another pair of the Kore shorts as for me I see nothing that can top the 'Viridian' pair I own, so the relaxed fit and linen texture sold these to me. I really rate their Tuvalu cotton range and the newly added beach fleece crew is super comfy with a unique texture that makes it worth the money to me.

The large Vuori print on Boyer's tee yesterday looked awful to me with the matching name cap. They should pair the tee with a V1 logo cap like the one Giron wears (also worn by Fratangelo a lot in Keys' player box).

Edit: not available in many colours, but this graphic Strato Tech tee is more flattering than the white text Boyer had on his: https://vuoriclothing.com/products/...lack?queryId=46c4c42c282805b46b91917900bb5b1a

Thats old news... They're growing so quick with the large cash infusions. They have over 200 retail stores of their own, and 20 in foreign countries...They're even opening in south Korea...

Vuori teasing the announcement on their Instagram, announcement tomorrow.
It's a smart investment - Vuori is extremely unknown to the average Brit. Even saying Lululemon will get you a blank look from some folks who frequent gyms/sports clubs and Vuori is definitely far less of a household name in the UK than LLL.

A sizable investment. Over 7 figures annually from what I have heard. Vuori been looking for a guy that can get to 2nd week of slams so this is their guy. Does dry up the pot for everybody else from what I hear

I mean they'll recoup that with their prices rather fast. I hope they improve some of their stuff though and don't cheapen the quality of what currently works. They also could do with refining some of the random zip pockets they have to maybe hidden pockets and also refine their logo placement/choose a logo patch that works as they're not as discreet as LLL is with theirs which is something I love about LLL. I think the V1 logo works but in less showy places - some in the company may think showing it off more is free advertising but I feel it cheapens their minimalist designs. Some of their colourways are also super nice and maybe some more textured materials especially in their workout gear could help in competing with LLL in that regard. For now I think LLL shorts especially are in their own league, even if the Kore shorts are comfy as an everyday.

The type font logo does not work. The small V they use otherwise is so much sharper
I think it looks fine in the t-shirts to get the brand name out there, but their baseball caps should have the V1 logo and not the text - not sure why you need the text twice? Not a huge fan of the geometric shorts but Draper can pull them off. The tank is petty nice though imo.
