Jack Kramer Retro

I don't see the point in making it from graphite. It's not going to be a serious racquet, and it's not going to be much of a memorabilia racquet either. For $399, you would think they could at least make it a real woodie.

I think that I'd prefer the real thing. But this thing is really cool. At least in the way it looks.

That's cool. I'm not going to buy it, but I'd love to own one or hit with it sometime.

I'm just glad they're keeping some classic frames alive.

So Wilson can go to all the trouble of making a graphite Jack Kramer replica "reissue" woodie AND make only 500 of them..... as well as the fact they STILL make the PS 6.0 85...........and Head cant be bothered with a PT280 reissue that they still make in their magical Austrian factory for half the pro's on the tour anyway??

Makes you wish it was Wilson who had made the PT280 in the first place, not Head!

Yes!!!!! Wilson had to make the racquet from scratch with a new mold too. While HEAD has the mold and all the things needed to sell us the PT280 but refuses.

Well, there aren't that many PT57As made and the market price for them is only a little more than these Wilsons.

Beautiful. Criminally priced, but gorgeous. I'd love to play with it. I'd also love for them to make a 16x18 version that doesn't share holes, but that's just a dream.

This kind of reminds me of the guitar industry. Make the guitar look old and charge double. Tools...

I'd rather show up with the real deal at court. Or why not a volkl servo RT or a kneissl or Adidas Lendl or Fischer "mono" or indeed a PS 6.0 85 sq inch.

You are right. They charge more for less.

that is just AWESOME. I remember a few years ago, Wilson did the same thing but it was a open throated version painted to look like wood. This is awesome.....I'm fighting the urge....

I found a NOS JKA for about $130. JKAs are all over the place in price but you're taking a risk on potentially 40-year-old wood frames. They might snap on the first hit.

My JKA's that I've measured range from 14oz 370sw to 14.7oz 415sw (strung). I don't think I'd transition well to 11.2oz 311sw.

I do have a Tony Trabert that is 11.7oz and a Maureen Connolly that is 12.4oz 305sw. I was surprised by the range of swingweight available from lumber.

I bought one from a shop closing in the 80's for $20. New, strung, never used, tags. Will never use or sell it. Cool piece of history

I picked up three of those a short time after they had been out on clearance for around $99 each IIRC. Strung one up and it really was too light. Dumped all three to a buddy.
