Jack Sock already gave up on the Ezone?

Not surprising that Sock continues to experiment with all the Yonex lineup. He still hasn't found the "magic combo" of racquet, string and his own skill set. Not being such a young player any longer, he must try to maximize his potential before that window closes.
It’s closing very fast

Didn’t he play with a Pure Storm GT with a PA VS paintjob for a long time? One of the VCore frames has a 16x20 string patter right? The 95 I think.

Not to pick on your post, but this is the uglies clay, and perhaps the ugliest tv tournament in all the atp tour. I’ll watch the sullen crowds in Morocco with no announcers before this tourney.
That’s American red clay. It’s red har-tru that’s a stone that’s mined and then pulverized that’s then blended with with some crushed brick. The particles are bigger than European red clay and the color is a brownish color when compared to European red clay.

Called it.

Yonex rackets are just really inconsistent for Western grips. The Vcore pro is better than the ezone in this regard, but still pretty bad picking up low balls.

Still think he'll move to Wilson.

There was one article out there that mentioned that he said this is his last time in Houston. Is that true? I know his form hasn’t been amazing and he’s had some difficult losses this year but he’s only 30. I still can see him have a couple years around the 100 mark in singles and pick up a few more masters doubles tournaments along the way. I also think he should try the vcore 98, or just go back to his storm at this point.

he gave a few words after his loss stating if it was his last time here, he just wanted to thank everyone, etc. Sounded like he’s either contemplating it or he may not be able to get in next year, who knows.

I'm surprised he didn't go with the VCORE since it would be most similar to Pure Storm.
I never hit with the Pure Storm though, maybe I'm mistaken.
He should just move on to doubles specialist at this point, I think singles window may be gone for him.

There is no future in pickleball because there is no money in the game.
McEnroe, Agassi, Chang, and Roddick hand a nice payday for playing a BS Pickleball match just last weekend. Sam Querry is playing Pickleball now. People are playing and getting tv coverage.

lol jack sock is not a hall of Fame player with the pull like McEnroe, Agassi, Chang or Roddick plus this was just one exhibition. I highly doubt Querry is making anything near what he made on the atp tour. The endorsement deals aren't as great either. Sure it may be fun to try out, but he could probably make just as much if not more concentrating on doubles.

Yes, there was some money for the legends and their exhibition match.

Sam Querry isn't making more than he would make on the ITF futures tour with his pickleball earnings.

The truth is that there is no money in pickleball.

But there also doesn't need to be.

They can find plenty of these guys who couldn't make it on the pro tour.
But they can make the leap into pickleball and achieve a top fifty ranking (or so.)

These guys will gladly play for peanuts.

A little bit of TV coverage, doesn't really mean anything.

I think you’re mistaken.

I don’t think this so called sport will ever get a big TV deal. A television rights contract is where the big money is. PB is not that entertaining to watch on television. The best players might be able to make a living playing PB tournaments.
