Hi,

I just look up on the internet sites of two famous Japanese running shoes manufacturers: Asics and Mizuno, and I found they are currently carrying two mid-priced lightweight shoes in the JP market: PrestigeLyte AC and Wave Exceed.

Have anyone tried or owned one of two pairs? What are your opinions?

P/S: I am currently owning Asics and Mizuno running shoes, and I think their shoes are better than those of Nike or Adidas. I hope the running elements will transform to the tennis shoes.

I haven't personally tried either shoe but they seem overpriced. The Asics GR4 shoes that many pros wear (and that many users here are in love with) are $119.95 here at TW but the model you linked is the equivalent of $161.43.

If you look at the JP version of ASIC GR4, it is equivalent of $US 186. The yen appreciation to US Dollar is the main reason why JP's products are so expensive these days, but I think these prices are normal in JP.

I hope Mizuno brings the tennis shoes lines to the US, and prices them similar with Asics USA. I would be the first buyer :).

I agree that Mizuno makes a superior running shoe than the big boys...I'm still in a pair of Wave Creation 11's...the WC13 is their current version.

Remember though, tennis needs more lateral support because of change of direction, stopping, starting etc. An ultra-lightweight shoe often sacrifices some stability and support. The best compromise I have found are the Yonex 30.. Series. I started with the 306's and wear nothing but their shoes since. Try a pair of the 308's (current model) while you wait to see if Mizuno crosses the Pacific with tennis models.

Ah, gotcha. Well I wish you luck in your shoe search!

P.S. If the prices are that high, you may want to check out the 'bay and find a seller who ships worldwide.

a number of years back I was playing with a pair of Mizunos... I remember they are really low to the ground and the sole were extremely durable. I played 1-2 times a week back then and the shoes lasted 2 years at least!
They arent the nicest looking nor the most comfortable (comparing to my Asics Challenger8 now) but really cheap and durable.

Gotcha, I checked a website called shuttle-house.com. It was originally a badminton racquet seller in Japan, but now it expands to tennis lines. It discounts 30% for new customers. You may want to check it out too: http://shuttle-house.com/en/index.html#category

I have an Asics Game 3, and I feel it is extremely comfortable. That is reason why I have a new stereotype for Japanese shoes.:?

Hi man, would you mind posting the pictures of the shoes if you still keep it?

Thanks a lot

Unfortunately I don't have them anymore :-(

Tried to google for pics when I first posted but nothing on the web either. It's basically white with some dark blue and a dash of red, kinda like the Nike Air Oscilate ( but more blue )
The uppers are synthetic leather.
