He is young and this is the first full year on ATP, soon He will be in the top 20, much more than Tomic, Dimitrov, Berankis, Harrison and all the other blokes achieved and he has huge game. He is ahead of all the youngsters coming up, he will win slams.

It's primarily directed towards polish press comments.

Hello everyone!

I’ve never used any social media to issue any official statements or explanations, but it’s time to make an exception. It is all about the fact that information, which was released after my last match in Miami, are totally distorted. In fact I try not to care about what the press write about me, although I always take your praise and criticism, provided that both are constructive and reasonable. But if after my match, which was recorded and available for everyone, I got to know that I harmed a ball boy I am powerless. I have never insulted or harmed ball boy, because that situation wasn’t his fault! Information published by press and news websites is rubbish, which, in my opinion, are written only to cause a great “sensation”. As for other incorrect information – I wasn’t quarelling with the umpire. I was DISCUSSING with him in a courtesy way! Do you know about what? Let at least one person tell me what my talk with the umprie was about and how it was proceeding! If there is nobody who knows that, I’ll tell you… From the very beginning there was a problem with Brazilian audience (80% of total amount). When I was entering the court, the fans of Bellucci were approaching me and shouting “Poland go home”! Did you know about that? No? In the first set the audience was whistling when I showed the umpire the print of the ball. But probably in general opinion showing the umpire that he made a mistake is a gross, intolerable and boorish behavior. Also in the first set when I was tying my shoe, Brazilian audience woke up again and started to shout and whistle. If I knew it was a problem, I would order a pair of shoes with Velcro. Then again the Brazilian crowd was clapping and waving their flags after each unsuccessful service, so my discussions with the line umpire was about the behavior of the crowd. The umpire told me that he was trying to deal with it and he knew that it was disturbing me. Bellucci’s coach intervened few times and tried to calm down the fans of his player. I would tolerate everything, but when they started to insult at me in Russian I decided it was too much. Even my coach, who is considered to be “an oasis of peace”, bursted out and quarreled with the people, who were throwing rubbish at him and showing some strange gestures from the beginning of the match. It means that journalists again reveal a fake view of Polish athletics – as the worst ones, and they don’t know or omit crutial facts…
I understand that I was criticized after Australian Open and I was not defending myself. But I totally cannot agree with the news, which were created after my last match in Miami. That news are pitiful, which depart from the truth.

I hope that I managed to show you what was happening during my match. If not, you can continue insulting me (but then please at least watch the match – not just read absolutely subjective articles). I also promise that I will be practicing hard and my motivation is increased at least 3times.

Take care,
JJ

Those Brazilians are a rowdy bunch evidently...or at the least they know how to get under your skin.

They had the Bryan Brothers pretty upset in the Davis Cup tie after the Aussie Open.

He looked pretty terrible vs. dicky gasquet at indian wells. I think he might be a bit overrated to be honest.

This guy is great, I still think he's going to be top 10 in a couple of years. Saw him beat Nalbandian at IW and saw him play a couple of doubles matches, he's not overrated.

I hope you're right but he hasn't looked like anything special this year.

Oh yes was wondering where this thread was buried...

Well JJ is now in a slam QF which is a good backup of his final run in Paris. If you say this f*cked up Wimbledon is a fluke, then he still has a Rome QF to back himself up. (Beat Tsonga + Gasquet and had SP against Federer)

He is definitely a player that will win slams, the way He is playing against Murray proves it, no fear at all, still inexperienced needs many things corrected on his game.

Voted 10+ just because he has the ability to win that many, not because I am predicting that will be a guarantee. But he has the ability to win Wimbledon this year (his game against Murray today is proving that), and, even if he doesn't, he proves he can hang with the best, and, thus, be the best.

Just to throw some ideas out there:

He will be in the top 10 by the end of next year because:

-Now He gets entrance to all Masters and all Slams and He has no points to defend pretty much, but in Wimbledon. Huge upside.

-He can play well on clay

-He isn't a choker, his mental strength and fortitude is unlimited.

A Champion in the making.

Convinced this guy was Jerzy himself.

Still made 3.7 Million for his short career.

Fantastic to see Jerzy back after such a long injury absence. No matter what his results, just getting back on court is a huge win.

He took a wildcard into the challenger in Rennes. He could have used his protected ranking for the Australian Open qualifying but obviously didn't feel ready.

He narrowly won his first match in Rennes against Machac (ranking 362) then lost in the second round to Lestienne (ranking 225). He's only 29 so hopefully can make a push into the top 100 again.

Great ! I still remember watching him play doubles at Indian Wells years ago on a side court, he hit a return so hard everyone was stunned into silence and then his opponents started laughing in amazement. Maybe he will show up again this year.

Coming back after such a long hiatus and winning a match at all is pretty impressive
