Jim courier blue 85 Wilson stars stripes

It was essentially the same as the 6.0, but more flexible. It may have either been lighter or more HL, as it swings easier through the air. It was very similar to the red Jack Kramer Pro Staff Graphite 85, maybe a little stiffer than the JK

My Stars and Stripes 85 is 359g strung and 11 whole points headlight (vs 365g strung and 9HL for my PS 85 St Vincent).

Does anyone here know the story of Courier having a frame especially made for him that he wound up rejecting (and pi$$ing off the manufacturer who was making them for him)? I remember reading about it on here not so long ago but damned if I can find the thread.

I like the 95 sq, inch version better. Strung loose at 45 to 49lbs with gut or Xone biphase it is a Nice bat with both power and control and feel. Big plow tbh.

I've still got a couple of these lying around. It's easily my favourite racquet of all time. I'll make a note to get the specs tonight, and I'll report back. I won't be able to get an RA value, but I can get weight/balance/swing weight.

If I recall correctly, the one I prefer (due to the 3/8 grip) comes in at about 364 grams, ~320 kg*cm^2 swing weight, and a balance that's reeeeeaaaally low (possibly sub-30.5 cm). That said, if I had to describe it by feel, I'd say that a lot of the weight is between the upper handle and the throat... I'll report back.

Alright, I've measured the racquets. The one I like more was sitting with some broken strings, so I measured it as-is, and then I took the strings, elastic, overgrip, and base grip off and measured the frame alone.

With everything (including .9 grams of lead at tip):
364.9 grams, 30.0 cm balance, 322 Kg*cm^2 swing weight.
Frame alone:
323.2 grams, 30.2 cm balance, 287 Kg*cm^2 swing weight.

The other one has some syn gut sitting in it, and I don't feel like cutting it out, so I measured it with strings, elastic, overgrip, and base grip:
356.3 grams, 30.5 cm balance, and 322 Kg*cm^2 swing weight.

The beam was 20.3-5 mm, depending on where I measured. This could be because the beam width measurements are based on the mold (maybe?), and the paint adds a tiny bit. It could also be due to my calipers being pretty cheap...

And I teach and string for a living and I still do this ..
But unfortunately my shops have no Rdc machines .. and no one EVER . Comes into my shops wanting info on old sticks . Never ..
So it makes no fiscal sense which is why I absolutely love to do it .. of course..
God is a fair god ..
