Jim Courier's Specs?

Does anyone know the exact specs on Courier's racquets back in the day?

What was the weight/balance of the PS85? Did he really use the JC Gosen string? What gauge and tension?

I'd kind of like to string up a Prostaff as close to his specs as possible to see what he was working with!

I'm more interested in what he was using at the peak of his career, but any info on what he is using now would be cool as well.

Yes, he really did use the Gosen JC string. So did Wayne Ferreria, but Wayne's said instead of Jim Courier Plays Gosen, Weine Ferreria Plays Gosen. Why they spelled his name like that is beyond me.

I know it. 13.2 ounces, thats strung and over grip. Balance is 12 3/8 from butt cap. Yes, he did play with gosen 16g.

Thanks for the help. Its actually pretty close to how my racquet is set up!

I did a search on the forum, and someone had said that his tension was usually somewhere in the high 50's.

Any idea on what his setup with the new ncode (is he switching to the k-factor?) is? Did he switch to a polyester string?

After his biggest success, and after the ProStaff 6.0 85, I believe he used the racquet he endorsed, the ProStaff 6.6 "Stars & Stripes" (I don't think Wilson called it that). The racquet came in 85" and 95" and, at least at first, had Jim's signature on it.

Back in the early 90s, I recall a tennis magazine published tensions for many top pros. Courier was listed at 76 lbs.

Jim Courier's stats:
6 ft 1 in, 180 lbs, red hair,
righthanded with 2 handed BH,
single, bi-curious,
kidding.

Yeah, I remember he had them strung tight. But he may have backed off that. Seems to be a trend as people age.

Used a Pro Staff 85. Santo Vincenzo?
What's he using now?

Courier sponsored by Estusa?

Here are some pics when he was with the nCode. Try to count the crosses to see if there are 19 or 18. http://www.advantage-tennis.com/courier/index.php?ind=143

Does anybody know if Courier was sponsored by Estusa? Am I missing out on something? Check out the Page 3 link on the url above and let me know what the stencil is on Courier's nCode/PS.

Edit: Nevermind, the stencil is for Stanford Financial.

Courier had his own mold (no PWS), then used a 6.0 85 with nCode cosmetic (in those pics behind the link that Lamb posted, 16x18), then after his last defeat by Sampras, started using a stock-looking nCode 90 (long handle, 16x19). It seems Courier has always been intriqued by Fed's frame and his recent defeat by Sampras was the final straw. Now, will he use the K90? Drumroll...
