Jimmy Connors criticized Carlos Alcaraz for his attitude in the 2025 Wimbledon final!

Buddy i have played at the national level in a sport. If you really played at a high level you would know you dont just shrug off a loss in one of the most important matches of your career till now. Wtf you on, this wasnt the 2nd round of a challenger. You have no clue, absolutely no clue
I’ve just moved on. Lots of pros can smile after a defeat. People aren’t all the same, you know. Sorry you probably lost back then. You should move on too.

Could be for Chuck a wake up call.

Just as it was for Sampras after the US open 1991.

"Feeling relieved" after a loss?

This feeling should be reserved for other situations.

You missed the entire point. But thanks for confirming my point that you havent played a sport at a high enough level to even know what I am talking about

In the future, I will be actively ignoring every single, predictably moronic comment from you, Mr Professionally Losing in Sports Expert.
Ok keyboard warrior who hasnt played a single sport in life, and thinks he knows something which he clealrly doesnt. Keyboard warrior at your core

I already told you, I played sports (tennis and football) at a competitive level. I will now train harder than ever to reach the Wimbledon final, lose it, and laugh hysterically afterwards at the trophy ceremony just to show you off.

Seriously, what’s with the agression? My guess is that you’ve lost a bit too often in whatever sport you claim to be elite in - or/and in life - and have a hard time coping with being a loser. Either that, or you’re just some sixteen-year-old trying to play with the big boys on this board - and failing miserably. Either way, you should really move on like a pro, champ.

Anyway, this is boring now. Go to bed.

I will repeat this ad nauseam. Stop being annoying. You cant be laughing and chilling after a wimbledon final loss and say oh hes a professional and moved on lol. Unless alcarz is autistic (doesnt seem that way), youre just wrong. It would be better if you would just admit it and move on kiddo

I’m 52, professor. And I’m pretty sure the keyboard warrior here is the guy who patronisingly criticizes how a 5 times major winner is supposed to act after losing a Wimbledon final just because he apparently played some random sport a a national level.

youre 52 and still dont know how humans react in certain circumstances. Damn thats very low EQ right there

I dont think youre 52 buddy. EQ is too low
I could say the same about your spelling skills, but you’re probably 16, so I’ll give you a pass. But I’d actually love to be younger. EQ covers being able to understand and accept that people aren’t the same and therefore behave in different ways in various situations - which is something you clearly have not been able even fathom.

Staying positive and moving on is the first lesson in coping with losing in sports according to every sports psychologist ever. Everybody knows that.

Remember when Alcaraz cried his heart out after losing in the Olympics? He was crap the next 6 months, and maybe wasn’t able to move on from that loss.

He probably learned a lot from that, so maybe - just maybe - a champion like Alcaraz knows more about coping with winning and losing than you ever will.

McEnroe also had more self belief after beating McEnroe in the 80 US Open final in a dogfight (plus having come so close at Wimbledon the year before). He was tougher than before, and Borg a bit less mentally strong than before.

Beating McEnroe in a US Open final would indeed have given McEnroe tremendous self-belief had he managed to achieve this feat! Beating Borg no doubt did in fact help his confidence a fair bit too.
