JJ Wolf is legit good

That's a lit'l unfair! He over-achieved last yr.; hence pressure to match it by defending pts they wouldn't be getting! It was all about the $$$ for most top players; exc. Nole!
What’s your problem? I’m not being unfair by plainly stating the facts.

JJ Wolf is actually a very nice guy in person based on my observation from watching his practice this past weekend at the CitiOpen. Not too many people asked him for his autograph after practice. Rublev & Goffin were on practice court #1 after Wolf and the Australian player (I think). I think my daughter has a crush on Wolf and she was very happy that she was able to take a picture with him, LOL.... I told JJ that he should try out either modeling and/or acting because he is a very good looking guy, minus the mullet :).

I have to say JJ Wolf is a very nice guy in person. I saw him on July 30th @CitiOpen '22. He was practicing on practice court #1, and my daughter and I were standing next to the practice court's fence. My daughter was wearing the T-shirt: JJ Wolf is NOT Andre Aggasi 2.0, and Wolf saw that, and he laughed. He actually took a picture with my daughter after the practice. I took a picture of Wolf during the practice break:
Hope he will do well on Tuesday.
that's very nice of you that you finally said nice words about JJ Wolf.
Although that picture makes me wonder. In the past, as you stated here
I've been going to CitiOpen since 2012. Got to meet Madison Keys in person and got to hit with her for about 20 minutes. Another year, I got to meet in person Belinda Bencic and hit with her as well. Another year, my company was one of the sponsors and I got to meet the Russian former US Open champ. Another year, my son got to hit with Giles Simon for almost an hour. A few years back, my daughter got to hang out with Camila Giorgi for a day. My son also got to hang out with Andy Murray when he played at CitiOpen a few years back. All of them are very nice and friendly people with the exception of Kevin Anderson who is a real a**hole in person.
your kids were able to not not hit with top pros for hours, but also spend entire days with them. Now you are looking _through a fence at ~100 ranked player_? Have you fallen on hard times? :)

LOL.... I don't have that power. My employer is no longer one of the sponsors at CitiOpen '22. Therefore, no passes for me or anyone from my employer to get close to players this year :(

I guess I was wrong about Wolf. I still don't like his tennis skill, too error prone, but I do like him as a person, from a few minutes I interacted with him.

Really good win by JJ Wolf today. The weather is really brutal. I watched the match and I couldn't handle the heat.

I feel really bad for Wolf that he has to play Rublev later today. Given the DC heat and humidity, I am not sure if Wolf has anything left in the tank after a grueling three sets against Rune.

Up to #83 in the live rankings.

new career high of 85/86 on the live rankings. finally firmly within the top100. he lacked variety against rublev, you cant outhit him but he will figure that out until next time.

bring the mullet back!

Yep, he had a good good match though. He’s such a strong kid. Thiem has slightly more experience in the big points. Wolf can build on this match, and looks to be getting better with each tournament.

Nice person from briefly talking to Wolf at the CitiOpen a few weeks ago.

Thiem's current ranking is like #261 and he is not 100% healthy and Wolf still couldn't beat him. Wolf's problem is mainly with the consistency. It seems like he just doesn't play well on big points and his game has so many ups and downs. Until Wolf can fix that, he will continue to struggle on the tour.

Not a JJ fan. I can’t unsee the mullet. And his serve what the air bound contortion has far too many working parts to be anything other than an occasional visit to Richard Gasquetville.

I like hus serve, great slice and pace.
His legs and the turn is a bit like Sam Groths was..

oh come on, thiem is nothing like a #261 and you know it. Ok he is not the player he was 2-3 years ago as he is still coming back from injury, but he is still a solid top50-100 player in most respects. Same stuff with Wawa

Thiem had to withdraw from Cincy due to ailment and he is still recovering from wrist injury so he is not 100% healthy. Therefore, this would be the perfect time for Wolf to dominate Thiem last night but he could not.

Watching that match Thiem played lights out in the final set tiebreaker, JJ didn't lose it. That said, I agree with you that he needs to improve his consistency to keep moving up the rankings. He definitely has the weapons and athleticism to become a top 50 player.

I was on the Rafa line this morning at the East Gate (pretty much everyone there early was there for Rafa) waiting to get in when JJ Wolf walked by heading out to the park where some players practice during qualies and I had to check myself from saying ”legit good“ as he passed. :giggle:

Why do these players practice at 930am when they never play matches at 930am.

Nice straight set win by Wolf over RBA. He should have a decent chance to make at least the third round b/c he plays Majchrzak or Tabilo next.

What is the Rafa line? can you please explain a bit for newbies like me? Does he come there everyday at 9:30 AM

I’m surprised Wolf doesn’t have a single logo on as a sponsor. Well I guess I see one on his shirt now but most of this match he looked like the shirts had nothing on them.

Here's hoping Wolf can rid the tournament of the whiner today! (:

Herschel Walker immobile? Are you kidding? Do you know that Herschel Walker was briefly a professional ballet thirty years ago? You can't be immobile and be a professional ballet at the same time. Walker also practiced martial art so he is quite flexible. Herschel Walker has the combination of power, quickness, mobile and the flexibility that 99.999% of people do not have.
Walker was such an athletic freak. Too bad he wasted years of his prime in the USFL. Would have loved to see him in the NFL during those years.

Now when it comes to his non-football aspirations, can't say I'm a big fan of Sheriff Herschel Walker, who was a valedictorian and graduated in the top 1% of his class at University of Georgia with a bacheler of science degree in crimial justice...

He’s got that little wolf logo, very fitting for him.
His apparel is made by Greyson Clothiers. Justin Thomas won his second PGA Championship this year, wearing his new threads after signing with Greyson earlier in the year. Hopefully, Wolf gets some cash from them to cover his laundry bills for the rather large inventory he totes on court.

I visited their website and don’t see very many affordable shirts or shorts, even on “sale.”

In San Diego this week he looks like he’s about to go shoot an adult film in 1985 with Traci Lords, Ron Jeremy, and Peter North.

Beats Bublik in Legit Good fashion.

unlike when Bublik lost to Cressy months ago, there was no “you were so lucky today.” Comments from Bublik this time.
