João Fonseca News

Carlos was playing Challengers when he was 17 and Fonseca is the same age and has broken the top 200, I wouldn't make wild predictions for him but he isn't overrated.
Man alcaraz won his first Challenger at 15, Fonseca isnt doing bad for his age but a lot of people got overexcited after his matches in río, i also liked how he played on those matches, but come one, hes nowhere near Carlitos brilliance at the same age, and im not even talking about results, i think he can do good but i havent seen anything that tells me he can be a top top player yet

I do like this thread, even with some of the click and bait style posts :)

Fonseca is awesome; we've got to appreciate the youngster's drive to success. It's really hard to break through to the top 200 ATP at the age of 17 or 18.

Fonseca plays 2 matches in a day, no problem!

Another Challenger Final this season, this time on hard court.

Good chance with #220 rank in final

Crazy that he'll jump from world no.214 to world no.166 If he wins this match, It'll open up a lot of opportunities for him.

The loss to Harris was anecdotal. It isn't canon.

Fonseca just won his 2nd round USO qualifyer against Hemery 6:4, 6:3. I watched a good part of the match, nothing special on display IMO. At 4:4 Hemery basically threw the 1st set away with an underarm serve to lose one point followed by a DF.

Fonseca won´t be in the USO main draw - he just lost his 3rd round qualifyer against Spizzirri 6:7 (8:10), 7:6 (7:5), 4:6. A very tight match, he was an early break up in the 1st set, but couldn´t hold onto it. The breaker was decided when he gifted Spizzirri a set point with a DF. Great fight back to win the 2nd set though after being a break down.
