I thought it was just the British media hyping her up. Not sure why the American Media want to!

Does she have any fans in the states? Non media People here are indifferent to her, no one cares if she wins or loses.

Doesn't seem to be that many getting behind her in the UK-probably because she is a Hungarian born in Australia & because she is so hard to like due to her robotic demeanour & style. Her endless crying is very annoying as well.

there's been this rather inexplicable infatuation with Konta by the American television tennis media for a while now. apart from the usual British fetishism we get to nauseating quantities here, I've never understood why she's given the time of day.

Probably reminds them of the royal family-useless, waving person who talks posh.
