Joachim Johansson need to play the qualifing while Thomas Johansson went straight in???

From the entry ranking, JJ is ranked 50 while TJ is inthe 200s!!! and TJ is not even a wild card

well, maybe he had a protected ranking, but there is no way JJ need to play the qualifing. it's a 96 draw and the cutoff (Vahaly) is ranked 84

JJ's Memhis title comes 3-4 weeks ago and everything should have been updated by now

btw, Vahaly is ranked 122 this week, anyone got any idea how lond before the tournament start when they made the cutoff list?

Direct entry 48 days before tournament. In this particular case it's based on Entry Ranking 19.01. JJ is No 90, last direct acceptance to IW is 84. So he needs to play qual.

Looks like Joachim Johansson already lost in the first round of the qualifying. What a shame! He was the #1 seed in the qualies, too. Too bad. I was really looking forward to seeing him on TV.

Damn, sucks that Joachim didn't get in. He coulda done some damage. I think it's junk that it's 48 days in advance, should be more like 20 or so. And with Vahaly gonna lost big points for his quarterfinal here, he's gonna drop unless he can pull a repeat (very unlikely).

I was looking forward to seeing this guy play after hearing all the great things about him. I am also hoping to finally see some footage of Rafael Nadal play. I am always excited to see new faces that can do real damage. Im sure we will get to see them both as the season progresses, but with ESPN you never know
