Let us celebrate Joao Fonseca's W at the Lexington Challenger with a small compilation of his devastating forehand.
His groundstrokes aesthetics and biomechanics are supreme.
His forehand stance is iconic.
Kamehameha stance.

And here's more from the Rio Open.

Joao is such a good prospect. A breath of fresh air after a decade of biomechanic mediocrity. An ode to the GOOD TENNIS.
He got #thatPOWER :alien:

forehand takeback reminds me of 05 fed in that pic

Yeah I may have to take another look. I'm yet to check out the clips in the OP but a few of his Challengers matches I've watched of his have given me the impression. I may be wrong (or right!).
Don't forget to watch the music video too. :D

A shame we won't be seeing more of this at the USO:

Some of the most satisfying crunched forehands ever. Wow.
I think his playstyle is too taxing. Perhaps he needs a lighter racquet or some way of allocating effort more efficiently between his shots.
Swinging Mjölnir all day long is unsustainable.
Also, his ground strokes are abnormally fine tuned which I'm certain takes up extra attention/bandwidth in his mind.

The thing is, he probably becomes a better more successful player by being a bit more boring. Great for him if he does that, but there is something very raw and compelling in his game that’s just awesome to watch. As a spectator I hope he keeps that devil may care attitude. Pure entertainment.
