Jodar will become the 3rd best player in the world by the end of 2027

yeah, he's not that type of talent but if you look at some sinner footage from 2021 you'll see some similarities. Of course sinner went on to improve on serve and movement tremendously in a very short space of time which I don't think Jodar will do but as of now for all his attributes and mental I see him as the 3rd best talent

Admittedly, all I saw of his match was the end of the first set. Had a bunch of stuff to do today. I had assumed Zverev raised his level, Jodar dropped his, and thus it became one-sided. Was it in fact Jodar running out of steam?

You don't think he'll ever do so, or you don't think he'll do so in a short space of time? He should be able to improve them, but it might take a while. I think it took Sinner a fair while. Significant improvements usually do.

I thin it's mostly due to the fact that he spent 4 more hours than zverev coming into the match. It's his first slam ever btw, never played bo5 in his life before and just played 3 5 set matches this tournament. Zverev did relax a bit after winning the first admittedly.

I think the chances of him improving as much as sinner are lower than 30%. I would never predict someone to become this good without major evidence. Sinner will retire as a top 10 player ever at least if not top 5, I believe. Jodar is not very fast he'd need a major ugrade there, Sinner is also a top 2 returner of serve on tour, a top 5 server and maybe the most consistent machine from the basline in the history.

There's a world where Jodar can become a Sinner 2.0 but i think the chances are very very slim for now imo.

I didn't realize you meant become as good as Sinner. I thought you meant improve his movement and serve tremendously. He could do the latter without becoming as good as Sinner overall. (I don't think him becoming as good as Sinner in terms of movement is impossible, by the way). I agree that he's unlikely to match Sinner overall.

oh yeah he did go through the qualies in australia that's how fast he improved his rank my bad.

I thought you were asking me if he can become as good as sinner. My prediction was about him becoming the 3rd best player not getting into that carlos/sinnner tier.
 
Zverev just exposed his lack of lateral speed. He literally won every point with a cross-court followed by a down the line backhand. Not everyone will be able to do this obviously, but the top players will.

I wonder if this is something he's going to be able to overcome.

Yeah PCB is not exactly a world beater on grass XD but my expectations for Jodar on grass are very low right now. If he makes R3 in his first try it's a decent result.
