Speaking about Djokovic's period of poor form, McEnroe compared the former Wimbledon champion with Woods, who in the past has had a high-profile divorce, been arrested, and suffered problems with prescription medication.

McEnroe claimed Djokovic "had some off-court issues with the family," adding: "That's going to throw you."

"If you're distracted you're not the same player," he said.

McEnroe, 58, said: "The person that comes to mind immediately with Novak is not a tennis player, it's actually a golfer: Tiger Woods.

"When he [Woods] had the issues with his wife and then he seemed to go completely off the rails and has never been even close to being the same player.

"So we're starting to say: 'Wait a minute, is this possible with him [Djokovic]?'"

This is less about judging Novak as a husband, because the stuff that's rumoured is alleged, not comfirmed (not that it would ever be lol) and more about asking his fans the question: do you think this is the reason for his drop? Not to throw shade on Novak/Jelena, or outright accuse or suggest any kind of infidelity did occur. However, I do think, or believe that there's nothing really innocent about a straight man in a committed relationship "hanging out" with a very physically attractive woman. There's just no positive impact that that can have on a relationship. I mean if you were in a serious relationship, and your wife/fiance/girlfriend spent some time hanging out with another guy (presumably heterosexual) I cannot imagine that you would be overly comfortable with that at all. While you might not suggest/accuse your partner of any sort of treachery, it would still bother you to a pretty considerable extent.

I definitely think his entire team knew about it. His team travels with him constantly. They know where he is at all times. I mean, do you really think that Jay-Z's entourage did not know about his infidelities? Celebrities are not like normal people. They have a team of handlers who are generally with them at all times. The coordinate their outings. They coordinate their schedules. They know who comes in and out of their lives. They even pay "hush money" when it is appropriate to do so.

Damage control is a big part of any celebrity's existence. You have to trust your team to do that. And if they don't do that, then you need to get rid of them.

Djo has marital problems and that translates into a lot of other things, like playing tennis. I have said it before, he is the Tiger Woods of tennis and I think the only way he will get past it is if that facade comes crashing down and he rebuilds. Same as Tiger did (though with not as much success at all). Why do you think he keeps saying Agassi has similar experience with what he is dealing with? They have had to groom Djo into that Fed and Nadal champion mold of higher standards, solid personal life, and all-around great people. Although the part was played, if his marriage falls apart and the infidelity rumors hold true, that changes everything for him. But maybe that is what he needs.
