Any recommendations for a poly setup on the Gravity Pro. I have tried several : YPTP 120 (my baseline string, was good but didn't feel as good as in my previous Vcore 95s), Hyper-G 17 (controlled, but a bit uncomfortable and felt underpowered), Mayami Hit Pro (great feel, not so much spin, very short playability), Mayami Hepta Power (overall a more comfortable and powerful Hyper-G that reminded me of Cyclone, but has sort of a hollowness not good on touch/volleys), and Signum Pro Firestorm 125 (powerful, good feel, interesting for now but not yet sure about playability/tension maintenance and missing some bite on topspin OHBH). Overall I realize I tend to prefer the feel of round polys but miss the bite that makes the ball drop back in court most of the time. Maybe I should go toward a poly poly hybrid? What do you guys think? Thanks!

regular head lynx, 1.20. Powerful, round and alot more spin. Similar to ptp.

Lynx tour plays softer than hyper g / confidential but you still need sth with more free power than lynx tour. Normal Lynx1.20 will match it perfectly with its elastic power….. and 18x20 will keep it more to maintain its tension an area that it lacks as a string.

My go to setup prior to the GPro was a poly poly hybrid, Lynx Tour/PTP 1.25. I liked it because it added a bit more consistency and softness to the controlled spin from the Lynx Tour mains without compromising the feel too much. It works quite decently in the GPro, but I'm experimenting with different crosses now that the PTP reel is running low. Lynx Touch as a cross has left a very good first impression, while Element.....less so. Still want to try Razor Code and maybe Hawk Power when it lands.

Additional thought: I found the Gravity Pro loves low tensions. I used to play at 54 pounds on my old Ezone 98, whereas now I string at about 46, and could realistically drop it further. Hell, when I got it, it had old demo strings that had to be about 30 pounds or so, and it wasn't the worst experience.

Thanks for your input. I'll be trying Tour Hex/PTP 1.25 next to see how a poly poly hybrid feels for me. I do really like a full bed of Firestorm 1.25 also. I'm also looking forward to trying Hawk Power. I did go from 52 to 48 pounds recently, both worked well.

Have you ever tried Element in a Hybrid set-up? If so, with what and how was it? I'm running a full bed of Element in my Pure Drive right now. Thinking about trying a hybrid of Element/Natural Gut.

Element and ng is too soft, I did Element and alu both ways, neither was as good as either alone. I have a girl who loves Element but breaks it too fast so I gave her grey fire mains.

Tour Status w/Element Rough crosses has been my favorite string setup I've tried in the last year.

More affordable, lasts longer, better feel at net, more bite on second serves.

ALU isn't as good in the prestige mid as it was in my old MP.

I would choose full ALU to play singles, but for teaching and doubles the BK/GF has more upside.

Is your racquet 18x20?

You're using 1.28 BK and 1.30 GF?

I've been using BK/GF (44/42 lbs) in my 18x20 Blade Pro.

I like the predictable stringbed and durability. Could use slightly more power, though.

I used that combo same combo (1.28/1.30) on my 16x19 Blade Pro until I ran out of BK and then I put 1.30 Cyclone, which also played decently.

The only reason I switched to my 18x20 Blade Pro is bc my 16x19 is L2 and it is a bit too small for me on my 1h bh. Otherwise, I prefer it.
