Jolly's Polys

Decided to use up all the random half sets and ends of reels I had laying around before the outdoor season started.

Stumbled upon a few gems.

First up Weiscannon Silverstring and Head FXP Tour.

Feels GREAT, good power nice bite at medium swing speeds.

Makes my prestige mid feel like a prestige classic.

Second Isospeed Rexxxer and Luxilon ALU Spin.

Pretty amazing and sounds like a gunshot.

Never thought I would be totally satisfied with a string but Black Knight 1.23 in a Wilson Blade Pro 16x19 @ 44lbs has done the trick. Bit of a break in and then 6-8 hrs of good play before I cut it out. Less than $4 a frame.

Could you please give me some advice
For the past year or so I have been using Isospeed Grey Fire 1.25 as a cross with Babolat VS Gut in the mains.
I use this at 54 / 51 in my Prestige Tour ( 2021).
Could you please tell me how Rexxer would compare with Grey Fire in this setup. I am about to buy another reel of Grey Fire but am tempted to buy Rexxer instead.
Thanks

More spin, a little less power, much more durability.

Thanks for the prompt reply.
I’m surprised that Rexxer has better durability. I was already happy with Grey Fire in this aspect.
I think durability depends on how hard/spinny you hit the ball.
With the oval shape, rexxxer protects the gut more than Grey Fire, but personally I'd break the poly before the gut in both VS/Rexxxer and VS/Grey Fire so didn't change much for me.
If you break the gut before the Grey Fire, Rexxxer should improve durability.

Another two bite the dust.

Rexxxer crosses broke first for me.

I finally settled on the Blade Pro 16x19. Still love the RF97 with Gut/poly but the Blade Pro at 45lbs with any number of polys it feels like it is tough to miss a ground stroke. Easier to serve and return.

The Blade Pro with Gut/Poly is absolutely god tier. 55/53 has been perfect for me.

@J011yroger can't wait to hear your take on Toroline. Assuming you don't snap them in 5 minutes.
Gut/poly is sweet in the Blade Pro. Can string it with Black Knight for less than $4 a frame and it lasts 8-10 hrs. Tough to get away from that set up.

There’s zero updates there basically. Okay, I exaggerate. Looks like the new VCORE 98 was a flop but not much detail given.

BTW, wouldn't a more accurate playtest be with ALU, your usual set up?
